Story
We adopted Charlie Bear from the pound. We don't know what his history is, but we do know that he is a great dog. Because of his size (125 lbs), he seems intimidating. But he's a big softie. He loves to play, is very food motivated, and great with dogs, cats, and kids. Ideally he would need a big yard, where he can explore and play. He needs leash training, due to his size, we were unsuccessful in that area. But with patience and more knowledge, he would do great. He's very loving, and has a huge personality. He loves stuffed animals, but will destroy them quickly lol. Keep-away is his favorite game. We are moving to an apartment 2500 miles away, and he would not do well being so contained, without a yard to play in. He deserves a loving home with someone who would be able to devote time and energy to match his.

I have never had to do this before so I am super sad here. Beau is a great dog- he however is terrible with cats and small animals. He is older and very mellow, its just if there is a cat or squirrel he goes after them. He ended up getting to my exwifes cat. When we got him they told me he was 8 years old- however I have had him for 6 years and he is not 14. My guess is he is 9 or 10. Because we walk everyday and he keeps up really well with my other dog. He would be a great addition to any home- just with no cats around.

Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle lab/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home. Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M JOHNNY, a 10-year-old lab mix waiting for a foster or forever home. Do you need a best friend? Because I'm looking for one! My ideal adopter is a single person who wants a companion, a pal for hanging out, walks, hikes, watching TV, car rides, napping. I love to play fetch, and I listen to basic commands. I tend to bond to one person who will be my soulmate. I love scratches and affection! I get bored if left alone too long, so best not to leave me out in the backyard for hours. I get along with some dogs, but I really want to be the top dog in the home with one person by my side. I'm still in great health and I'm basically looking for my forever pal to go for walks, hikes or simply watch TV. I weigh about 70 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email me for an application.

Story
Precious Mercy is a friendly adult around 3-4 years old. We found Mercy chained and emaciated whenever we were visiting our rescue partners in Texas. One said "you have to see these dogs at this house". The scene haunted us, and we took action, eventually the dogs were removed from the property. Mercy lived a life where she was forced to have multiple litters and lived in a dirty dog house. When she went to foster care, she was so grateful. We got her healthy, treated her heartworm, fed her a lot of snacks, and have given her a lot of love. She does great with all dogs, big and small. She has been around kids that are dog savvy, and doesn't seem to care about the cats that she has met. Mercy's rescue is based in Boise, but she is available for direct adoption throughout the PNW with transport included at no extra charge. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines are included in her adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Hello everyone!!!  I'm Tammie.  I am a really well behaved lady.  I don't get in trouble.  My foster mom says I'm adorable.   I am good in the crate and love walking on a leash.  I also LOVE cats...specially kittens.  I have been known to groom them.  lol  I haven't had much luck with other dogs in my past.  Some were not friendly towards me and made me a bit scared.  They used to eat all my food and bully me.  I would prefer to be the only dog.   Let me think.....things I don't like...getting my nails trimmed.  The previous owners used to hurt me and make my nails bleed.   I love treats and enjoy laying on the grass when it's sunny outside.  I am ok in the car also.   I have been waiting a long time.  I'm not puppy cute, but there is not much you have to teach me.  I will adapt very well to any living environment.  I am so ready to find my furever family.  Are you the ones???? We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Our adoptable pets are in Houston living with local foster families making the transition into your household a whole lot easier. We have scheduled transports every two weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest.      ##1618131##

Story
Buster is a bundle of joy and energy, wrapped in a furry, 14 & 1/2 month-old package. His infectious enthusiasm for life is sure to bring a smile to your face every day. He's a high-energy pup who loves to play and explore, making him the perfect companion for an active family. One of Buster's most endearing qualities is his love for other dogs. He's a social butterfly and enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes. He's been especially good with small dogs, but we're not sure how he is with cats, so a cat-free environment may be best for now. Buster is making great progress with potty training. As long as you stick to a consistent schedule, he's likely to continue improving. Patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping him master this skill. Behind his high-energy exterior, Buster is a true sweetheart. He craves human affection and will eagerly shower you with kisses and cuddles. Get ready for a loyal and loving companion. Buster is a smart pup, but his high energy can sometimes get the best of him. He'll benefit from patient, consistent training to help him channel his exuberance in a positive way. A structured training regimen will help him become the best furry friend he can be. Buster is already crate trained, which is a big plus. It provides him with a secure space and can aid in his training. He also loves mental games. Buster loves to be on the move, whether it's going for long walks, playing fetch, or exploring the great outdoors. His energy level is boundless, so an active household or someone who loves outdoor activities would be a perfect match. While Buster enjoys the company of children at dog parks, he might be better suited for older kids who can match his energy and playfulness. Buster is looking for a forever home that can provide him with the love, attention, and exercise he needs to thrive. If you're an active individual or family who's willing to invest time in his training and enjoy his boundless affection, Buster may be the perfect addition to your home. We don't know his breeds but the search engine forces us to make a choice and since he acts like a Lab mix we marked him as such. If you’re interested in Buster, please I’ll out the pre-adoption application at https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue

Story
Koda is 2 years old, born April 3rd 2022 in Boise Idaho. She is 100% German Shorthair Pointer. She is an extremely loving and happy dog that needs a home that can keep up with her breed energy level with plenty of space to run and play around. She loves playing fetch and will chase a ball all day. She has her basic training commands down, but needs continuous training on a leash and on commands. She is great with other dogs and plays great with larger breeds. Koda plays well with children and adults. Her ideal home is one where she has minimal kennel time allowing her to move freely and run throughout the day instead of designated times following a typical work schedule. She may get bored in a kennel if she does not have hard style toys to chew on and/or have had enough exercise.
