Story
Layla is a goofy and bouncy lab/hound mix puppy full of energy and love! She's going to be a big girl, as she's already 50lbs at 9 months old. Layla is a typical puppy who loves to jump and run around and chase toys. She's a sweetheart and everyone swoons over her adorable face. Layla is hoping for a home ready to teach her and help her grow up! Layla enjoys the company of the other dogs around her, and we believe she would be happiest in a home with other dogs, as she has shown some anxiety when being isolated.Anyone interested in Layla should do their research on labs and puppy behavior!

Story
Meet Gabe! He is nearing his 3rd birthday and would love to celebrate this milestone with a new family!! We are not certain why there has been no interest in him. Gabe is a really sweet boy who loves to play, be around people, and also enjoys a comfy place to practice his couch potato skills! He enjoys being with the other dogs in his foster home (both large and small!). He was a favorite among the shelter workers. AND he enjoys hanging with human sisters in his foster home. We would love to see him find his forever home! We know whoever decides to give him a chance will not be disappointed! Gabe’s adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at digsk9.org. If you have questions, please email digsk9@gmail.com. Please note that we are unable to hold dogs for any reason including moves and vacations. Once approved for adoption we require the adopter to complete the adoption and take ownership of their new companion. **We do our best to accurately represent the breeds of each pet. However, the breeds listed have not been verified via a DNA test. They are chosen based on the appearance and characteristics of the pet at the time of listing.

Story
Hi! I am Gretchen, a 30 lb yellow lab mix tripod who is around 4 years old. I am super sweet, affectionate and love to give kisses. I'm pretty low-key and love having people around me. Even though I had my left hind leg amputated it hasn't stopped me from wanting to chase after squirrels and rabbits. I love playing with older kids (5 years or older). I don't really like large dogs because I'm a bit intimidated by them therefore prefer smaller dogs. I would also love a fenced in yard so I can run and chase squirrels and rabbits. I have a gentle spirit and playful nature. I am looking for my forever home with humans that will show me lots of love and affection. THE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS adoption fee is just $99! This will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 8:41 pm
