Story
Meet Clover, a gentle soul with a heart full of love.  She is most likely lab/husky mix, she has two different colored eyes and is quite slender (due to being a stray she still needs to put on about 20 more pounds) and athletic.  She is very smart and will need a family that can not only provide the right nutrition and love but also environment to keep up with her.  She absolutely loves to go on walks. She is housebroken, crate trained.  She does fine with other dogs but hasn't met a cat and we aren't sure on kids either but she is such a friendly girl she will probably be fine.  She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, fecal and heartworm neg, and microchipped.   Her adoption fee is $500 To adopt Clover, email us at kakf3133@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 9:36 am

Story
Koba is a sweet boy who was brought to us after he was placed on a euthanasia list at a local shelter due to injuries he sustained from being hit by a car. We decided to help knowing we had a great team of orthopedic doctors and experienced technicians to help him heal. Koba received an FHO procedure to save his leg from amputation. He is doing well and going through physical therapy to get back to 100%! He lives with another dog and does well, except with toys. He is VERY toy possessive. So, he could live with another dog, with the right family. Otherwise, maybe a single dog home is best to prevent fights. He is great with cats and think he would be fine with kids. Koba's adoption fee is $259 and includes his neuter, FHO procedure to fix his injured leg, vaccinations and routine labwork. Please email helpsavepetsapps@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting Koba.

Story
Hello, my name is Hudson and I am an 8 year old lab mix. Although Im not super tall and have a lean look, I am 68 lbs. I'm a handsome, dark chocolate color with some white on my chest though my coat looks black in a lot of inside photos. My foster mom says I was probably someone's pet, since I was neutered and someone clipped my tail. I am good on a leash & know words like sit and treat, but I somehow became a stray. Without a chip, my owners had little hope of finding me. Unfortunately, the shelter in Kentucky who found me was super full and didnt give me a lot of time. After only 10 days, I was on the euthanasia list, and thats when TAR rescued me. I am a relaxed, mellow, sweet and loving guy. I love humans, and will rub up against you and ask for pets even when you first meet me. My favorite place to be is anywhere you are Ill lay at your feet while you work on the computer. Ill watch you as youre folding laundry or doing chores. As long as youre near me, and Im not locked away in one room alone, Im happy. I love to snuggle on the couch with my chin in your lap, though Im also happy laying on the floor at your feet. Also, I take treats SO gently! I'm generally not very into toys but have learned about the Kong toy and the nylabone at my foster house. Oh, and if youre going out, I really like car rides. I just hop right in and Im really good and quite in the car, so maybe just take me with you if youre going out! I am very friendly to humans and greet every person I meet on a walk with a wiggle-butt, wagging stub (tail). I am very trusting and let human touch my anywhere. My current foster home has teens, and I am great with them. Ive had some gentle and friendly interactions with young kids, but because of my size, TAR is recommending that kids in my new home be at least 8. I'm generally a quiet boy in the house, but when I do bark, that bark is Loud! So, Im a good deterrent, but shared-wall living like an apartment or condo is not for me. A single-family home is best for me. I'm house trained and I will give out little whines and nudge you or walk to the door if I have to go outside. And if youre looking for a great walking buddy, I love to walk outside and I walk nicely on a leash most of the time. I only really pull if there is a REALLY interesting thing to sniff. When other dogs bark at me through a fence or across the street during a walk, I dont bark back. I would be happiest in a home where someone is home with me most of the time like a retiree, a stay-at-home parent, or a work from home person. I am happy to peacefully coexist with other dogs, especially with dogs who are similar in size (40-70 lbs). My foster home has three other dogs and Im good with all of them. I dont necessarily play with them, so Id also be OK as an only dog IF there is a human at home with me. I just dont like being alone. A vet recently realized that my pupils are always dilated which means I may not see super clearly. The vet recommends that my new family takes me to a veterinary ophthalmologist to see if I have a treatable condition. If its not treatable, thats probably OK because I seem to have adapted to it pretty well. I have no trouble going up or down the stairs, and I can still see the squirrels on my walks just fine! The vet thinks that my need to be near a human and/or another dog all the time might be partially related to this vision issue. (Although, Im just a love bug, too.) Given my vision impairment, a fenced yard is a must for me so that I have a safe place that is contained and where no new dogs can come in and surprise me. I just shouldnt be running or too active right now because I am Heartworm positive. TAR is helping me recover, as heartworm is treatable and preventable and not easily contagious to other dogs that may be in my new home. Ive already started my heartworm prevention medication, and I am scheduled for three heartworm cure injections: one in mid-August, and two in mid-September. Then Ill be retested in mid-October and again 6 months later just to be sure it worked. Ill need to be on heartworm prevention medicine for the rest of my life to make sure these heartworms dont come back!! If you adopt me during the treatment, TAR will continue to cover the cost of the treatment. Youll just have to go to the TAR vet in Naperville. I'm patiently waiting for my chance to be your faithful companion. If you're looking for a middle-aged guy who craves love, enjoys the company of others, and appreciates the simple pleasures in life, then look no further. When we meet, I promise that I will greet you with a wiggle butt, and I may give you some kisses. I know deep down that my perfect family is out there, waiting to cherish and adore me just as I will cherish and adore them. Just apply to meet me. I'll be your most loyal and loving companion! Love,Hudson Hudsonis in our foster home in Downers Grove. To meet this gentle boy, please complete our adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-dog-adoption/ Please don't let his heart worm status from stopping you for giving this sweet boy an opportunity for a home. Heart worm is treatable and also preventable. Sadly, his original owners did not keep him on his monthly preventions. Treasured Animal Rescue will cover all his heart worm treatment expenses and any questions regarding the treatment process for his heart worm, please send an email to: info@treasuredanimalrescueinc.org Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of Illinois Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
Freddie is about 2 to 3 years old. He is the sweetest little guy you’d ever meet. He loves people. He’s shy at first, but once he gets to know a person, he loves his people. He’s not very good with other dogs that he meets, but if introduced slowly he is fine. He loves his foster sister Millie; he grooms her and they run around and play so not really sure what his history is. He is a runner. He snuck past me and we did have to chase him down the street. Luckily, he is food motivated and with the help of some neighbors we enticed him with the food and got him back but again this is probably one of the reasons why he wound up in the animal shelter. He looks like he’s like some type of whippet mix. I don’t think he’s going to get much bigger. He might just get a little fatter. He is mostly house trained as long as he is kept on a schedule. Just needs to be on the schedule and then once he knows when he’s going be let out he’ll be totally fine. He’s not crated when we leave. He sleeps in bed with us. I would really like to see him go to a home with older kids and would be fine in an apartment as long as he gets his exercise. He just loves his people and he's not super high energy, so if you’re interested in learning more about him, call Denise at 630-439-6541. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive

Story
Ollie is a 3 month cattle dog/lab mix. Ollie is a playful, cuddly pup that wants to be your constant companion. Very gentle and easy going, doesn’t nip fingers and really loves a good long belly rub. Ollie will run in from outside right to his kennel and appears to have had some house training. He sleeps through the night with no accidents and is quiet before going out. He would make a great friend for anyone looking for a family dog or wing man. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $250.
