Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Espresso is not just a Lab/ Aussie/ hound mix; she's a resilient, one-and-a-half-year-old miracle who turned her tale of adversity into a story of hope. This lovely lady had a rough start in life, as she was found tied to a tree, left to fend for herself. This sweet girl's journey took an unexpected turn when a kind soul rescued her and discovered that she was not alone—Espresso was pregnant. She was taken in, brought to rescue and given a safe spot to have her babies.  Since then, Espresso has been on a journey of healing and rediscovery, learning to trust people and embrace the love and care she deserves. Despite facing such hardship, Espresso's spirit has not been broken; instead, she's emerged as a shining example of resilience. Espresso is a beautiful 45 lb Lab / Aussie / hound mix. (Foster DNA TESTED). Espresso is dog-selective, and seems to enjoy the company of male dogs more than females.  She has not been tested with cats.  She shines brightest in the company of humans, displaying a heartwarming affection once she's had the chance to warm up to her people and realize they are not there to hurt her, but to give her love and affection.  Espresso has  proven to be good with kids in her foster home, as long as they are respectful towards her requirement to warm up first. Espresso has been fed separately in her foster home as well, as she does tend to guard her food, another effect of having been left to fend for herself for God knows how long.  We feel this girl would do best in a home with a yard so please no apartments or condos.   As you consider bringing this wonderful Lab / Aussie /hound mix into your home, be prepared to be patient and understanding, offering Espresso the time and space she needs to fully blossom into the loving, affectionate companion she's destined to become. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Espresso, please reach out to us and be a part of her journey to a brighter, happier future. Together, let's make Espresso's second chance at a forever home the warm and loving experience she deserves Espresso’s adoption fee is $400 (Includes microchip, spay at one of our contracted vets, and age appropriate vaccines) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.**   Tucker is a 2 year old, 70lb neutered, Lab mix.   He is fully potty trained and enjoys being outside and swimming. Squeaky balls and fetch are a few of his favorite things.   He is still working on not pulling on his leash during walks, so potential adopters should be willing to continue to work with Tucker on this.  Tucker loves other dogs and has gotten along well with cats.  He would do best with older, respectful children (15+).   Because he is a lab mix, Tucker would do best in a home with an adopter or family who will work his mind and give him plenty of exercise to get out his lab energy.  A fenced in yard is not required as long as adopter is committed to him getting his exercise,  Tucker's adoption fee is $350 - which includes core vaccinations (age appropriate), microchip & spay/neuter at one of our contracted vets (if applicable) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi there, I'm Delilah, a one-year-old Labrador Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a wagging tail just waiting to meet you! I may have had a bit of a rough start, but I'm ready to find my forever home with a loving family who will cherish me. When I first arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from a partner shelter in Oklahoma, the staff discovered that I tested positive for Heartworm. But don't worry, that doesn't dampen my spirits! The wonderful folks here believe that the best place for me to undergo treatment and recover is in a warm and caring home like yours. If you choose to welcome me into your family, you won't be alone in this journey. The clinic staff will be there every step of the way, providing guidance, answering any questions you may have, and offering support throughout my treatment process. The treatment typically takes about three months, during which I'll need some simple at-home care to ensure my safety and comfort. And after that, there's a follow-up test six months later to make sure everything is A-OK. I'm thrilled to say that the Heartworm treatment has a high success rate, and the staff here is confident that I'll make a full recovery! Woohoo! And just so you know, Heartworm is only spread through mosquitoes, so you won't have to worry about transmission from me to other pets. So, if you're looking for a sweet and friendly companion to brighten up your days, look no further! I'm Delilah, and I can't wait to be a part of your loving forever family. Let's make memories together! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Say hello to Sissy, a sweet-natured and slightly shy 7-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, looking for a forever home where she can bask in love and comfort. Sissy has a gentle soul and, while she may be a bit reserved at first, she warms up to kindness and patience. She's the perfect companion for cozy evenings and peaceful walks. Due to her environmental and seasonal allergies, as well as food sensitivities, Sissy is on a special diet that helps keep her feeling her best. Her new family will need to continue this regimen to ensure she remains happy and healthy. Sissy would thrive in a calm and stable environment, ideally with someone who understands the needs of a sensitive dog. She might need a little extra time to adjust, but with gentle encouragement, she'll soon find her confidence. If you have room in your heart and home for this beautiful soul, come meet Sissy! She's ready to give all her love to a family that can offer her the gentle care she deserves. Stop in and meet Sissy in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Story
Meet Wendy, the spirited bundle of energy at our shelter who's always ready for an adventure! Wendy embodies boundless enthusiasm and zest for life, making every moment with her a thrilling experience. She's obsessed with food and loves nothing more than indulging in tasty treats. Despite her high-energy nature, Wendy has a soft side too. After a day filled with play and excitement, she enjoys nothing more than tuckering down for a cozy nap, often curled up next to her brother Coleman, whom she adores. Wendy thrives on activity and would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures, playtime, and lots of affectionate cuddles. If you're looking for a spirited and loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your life with joy, Wendy is the pup you've been waiting for. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things she will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in her mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so she can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy she will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet her cute self in person during our adoption hours.
