Story
~Adoptable Toucan Dan ~ Handsome Dan is a spunky, adorable, sweet, energetic, one year old boy who loves to cuddle! Dan was adopted from our rescue in May at about 3 months old when no concerning behaviors were observed. Dan was surrendered back to rescue when he was about 6 months old for play and biting that was escalating to a point of being more intense than typical puppy behavior. Dan’s family noticed the behaviors escalate after sending Dan to a board and train program that used aversive training methods. Even several months later, poor Dan will still occasionally flinch with approached quickly/touched in the neck area. When Dan was returned to rescue, we wanted to ensure that we were setting him up for success. Dan has been seen by a behavioral veterinarian and has been on fluoxetine for the past 5 months. We have been ensuring that he gets daily mental and physical stimulation. Dan has also been neutered while with us. Dan has been back with us in rescue for 6 months and we have not seen any concerning behaviors. He has been with 3 different foster families and has really thrived in his latest foster home, with foster mom sharing that “he is the easiest foster she’s had yet!” Dan is crate trained, and potty trained and loves meeting new people and animals. He is the first to greet people when they enter his foster home and wants to greet everyone when he goes on walks. Dan is doing well walking on a leash, but since it’s exciting to make new friends, he is still learning to walk without pulling. He loves other dogs so much, that sometimes his playfulness can be a little too much and “annoying” to older dogs or dogs who are not as playful.  A similar sized dog who is playful or a home by himself would be best. Dan loves playing in the fenced in yard, but also enjoys going for walks and for car rides, so would love an adopter who enjoys being outside and who would like an errand buddy! Young children can be overstimulating for many dogs because of their fast movements and often higher volume levels so we think a home with children ages 12 and up would be best for Dan. “Toucan Dan” deserves the best. He is truly a rescue favorite and has thrived over the past 6 months. If you think this handsome, smart, cuddly boy would make a great sidekick for you, please complete the application below. Dan is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered for an adoption fee of $375. https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-applicationFebruary 18, 2025, 5:01 pm

Story
Hello there, I`m Jack, a foodie at heart! My journey to the shelter started when I mistook the postman`s bag for a food delivery. I`m an adventurous spirit, you see, and my culinary curiosity often gets the best of me. I once tried to taste a skunk, thinking it was a black and white burrito. Not my finest moment, I must admit. But hey, we live and we learn, right? I`m a solo artist, not a fan of other dogs cramping my style. I`m looking for a forever home where I can be the star, and where the food is plentiful! I promise to bring laughter, loyalty, and a healthy appetite to your life.

Story
Cramer is my name and givin' good lovin' is my game! I am a 5 year, 50lb neutered male lab mix. I am the definition of man's (and wink wink the lady's) best friend. I came from a hoarding situation but despite that am completely well-adjusted, super-duper friendly and a "happy go lucky, go with the flow, what is next on our agenda today mommy and daddy kinda guy. The minute I came into my foster home I made myself at home getting all comfy on the dog beds and human ones too . I love people and want to do nothing but give you kisses and hugs. The one second you make eye contact with me, my tail starts wagging wanting your approval. I came from North Carolina to Maryland on what's called a leg transport...Where six different people do a "relay to get me here. Well all 6 folks were smitten by me and my copious gentle kisses. What can I say I am a hopeless romantic. So I am great in the car especially if I can run copilot ! I am housetrained. I don't like the crate but am fine in the house and don't get into stuff. Foster mom can even leave her slippers around! And at night I just want to be with you so don't wander out for late night shenanigans. I am UBER CUDDLY! And the folks here love that because my coat is so soft; softer than a teddy bear! When we go to sleep I get right up next to you because I like to be cradled like a baby as we fall asleep together (I move after a while so your arm won't go numb!). I sleep like a human and use a pillow accordingly. Pretty impressive, huh? I am low energy and happy just chewing a bone. I'm great on leash and will walk by your side. I can be jumpy when wanting lovies but respond to back turning. I also try to be as gentle as can be when jumping up (Foster mom calls me a meerkat). I am great with dogs and pretty much ignore them (I just started being a little playful with the two resident dogs here) and I came from a home with cats. Foster Mom says to me that she has had a LOT of lab mixes come through her home as well as pure bred labs. She says I am one of the best! PS- check out my froggy splirt! ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Story
This dog is located in New Castle, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at  610-656-1291  (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 March 13, 2025, 12:17 pm
