Story
Callie is a sweet, playful, and often lazy girl who loves to follow commands for dog treats, complete dog puzzles, sleep on the couch, and play tug. She knows the commands for sit, stay, lie down, roll over, spin, high five, paw, and up and she’s eager to learn more! She loves to curl up and sleep the day away, but also has a penchant for chasing after squirrels, sniffing around the dog park, and going on walks. She’s also house-trained and has no problem staying inside at home while you’re away at work. Callie currently lives in a home where she's the only dog, but she doesn’t mind other dogs while walking on leash or while in a dog park. She’s good with kids, but not fond of excessive pets, and she loves people once she meets them calmly and they give her lots of chips. Callie is also a big foodie; besides chips, her favorite foods are popcorn, bananas, cheese, and peanut butter on anything! She loves being at home and having her people around. You’ll never meet a more loyal dog!

Story
Meet Tiki, a handsome, friendly senior dog who is looking for a low-key lifestyle to live out his golden years. Our sweet friend Tiki is wondering why he's still at the shelter, when he would love to be snoozing at home. This famous Houdini Dog gained lots of attention a couple weeks ago when he busted out of our shelter after hours, not once, but twice. Tiki's great escapes weren't just for show. They highlight his separation anxiety and deep need for 24/7 human companionship. This nearly 10-year-old gentleman is seeking a forever human who can be home A LOT, offering him the constant love and reassurance he craves. He does not want to have to share this attention with other doggie siblings. We think Tiki would be a match for someone in their golden years, looking for a devoted friend to share their days with.

Story
Hi! Are you looking for a new friend who will be happy just hanging out with you? Well, here I am! My name is Gunner! Look deep into my soulful eyes and you're sure to fall in love! I love absolutely everyone. Well, except other dogs when I'm out on a walk. Instead of taking me to dog parks or doggy daycare, where I'll likely be too reactive, I would really love to go on hikes, take walks, and have some backyard playtime instead. If you have room in your heart and home for me, I'm waiting to meet you!If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care I have received.**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Gender: Female Age: # 1/2 Breed/Color: Lab / Black Location: Gregory, MI Pet ID: 2024_12 Adoption Fee: $350 Princess aka Prissy is one heck of an amazing dog!! She is a lab/hound mix. She has not seen a lot of new things, so she can be shy at first ... ohhhh but don't let that fool you!. She is used to and LOVES cats. Dogs are new to her, but man oh man she can play with them or leave them because she can play by herself!. She is a bit on the chunky side, so clearly she is food motivated in life. She does not know very many commands, but she is not unruly or ill mannered. Princess is the perfect dog for ANY home! Kids? Great! Cats? Great! None of that? GREAT! To adopt an animal from our sanctuary, the first step is to submit an application. *Please note we adopt within the state of MICHIGAN ONLY* The process takes a few weeks. It involves vet and personal reference checks and interview of applicant. There are no exceptions … Please remember that we are all volunteers and it may take a week or so after we receive your application to be contacted. Sometimes several people may be interested in the same pet, so please remember that not every animal is right for every home. To ensure a healthy and happy placement for our pets and their new families, we take the time to evaluate each animal’s temperament and try to match the right animal to the right family. OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES All fees are subject to change without notice. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee the animal will be adopted to you. We do not work on a first come first serve basis. We collect applications and make our best determination on where we think the animal would thrive the best. We have the right to deny any applicant without explanation, and the decision is final. Very rarely do we get written documentation of an animal’s age and breed. We do not guarantee these, we work with professionals to help make the best determination. All of our foster homes follow a 30 Day Stay policy and do not make ANY exceptions. This policy requires every animal who comes into foster care, to stay in foster care for a minimum of 30 day before going to their forever home. Story
Hii 👋🏼 my name is Walter but my foster mom likes to call me Wally! 🔆 I am estimated to be around 2 years old and guessed to have a little bit of bully, lab, and dachshund in me. 🌵I’ve been learning how to walk on a leash! I love to go on walks and cuddle up with my foster mom. 🔆 I do not react to other dogs on my walks, but if I see a squirrel or bunny rabbit I will pull and try to chase after them. 🌵I love to play fetch in the backyard and would do well in a family with a fenced in yard! 🔆 My foster mom introduced me to other dogs and I loved playing with them 🐶 🌵 I do well in my crate, but I would prefer to be left out and snuggled up on the couch or my doggy bed. 🔆 I’m fully potty trained and haven’t had a single accident! Walter will make the best addition to someone looking for a loving, active, playful dog! 🤗 Apply to adopt Walter at underdogrescueranch.com/adopt

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, please let me introduce myself, my name is Sarah and I am a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard.  Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was abused by her first human family, so she finds it hard to trust new people and has fear aggression. It will take time to gain Sarah's trust and multiple meetings.  She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command.  A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog.  Please come and meet me,  I need is a chance to find my permanent home. Older children only pleas e.    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
