Story
We acquired Shadow from my sister when he was a puppy. He is now a one-year-old Labrador Retriever with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Shadow is a loving and playful dog, but he has more energy than our young kids can handle. We are looking for a new home where Shadow can thrive with a family or individual who has the time and space to give him the exercise and attention he needs. Ideally, his new home will have a yard or access to outdoor areas where he can run and play. Shadow is friendly, loyal, and full of life. He's always ready for an adventure and loves to be active. We're looking for someone who can match his energy and give him the loving home he deserves.

Story
Hello, everyone!! This is Beau!Beau is an extremely handsome red labrador retriever mix. He is a very big boy and will need to go to a home with a lot of space and a lot of patience, determination and intentional devotion to training. He is super smart and knows how to sit, shake with both paws, and lie down! I`m sure he is eager to learn many, many more tricks and will be the best playmate. As he is large in size, he is also amazingly strong and will need an equally strong handler. Although we have been consistently working with Beau how to properly walk on leash, his new family will need to make sure Beau gets into a basic and intermediate obedience course also dealing with leash training. Beau did well with dogs in two play groups (one male, one female) but can be a little much for most dogs due to his high energy and size. Cats would not be suggested at this time so he can focus on his manners and control. Also, due to his size, if there are any children in the home, we would prefer the home have older children in their teens. Beau will need more exercise than just being able to run around in a fenced in yard. He will need an active family that will take him for plenty of walks and even play games like fetch to help not only exercise his body, but his mind as well.Come see Beau today and see if he will be the best fit for your home!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.

Story
We got Peaches when she was 3 months old thinking she was a full Labrador Retriever but her DNA results came back as half Beagle / half Lab. Her birthday is 11/11/23. We would love to keep her but she is not well suited for apartment living. She needs a home where she can have a large backyard to run around off leash. We would also prefer if the home has other dogs and maybe another beagle because she doesn't like being alone. She is up to date on all of her puppy shots including the rabies vaccine. She loves food, playing fetch, and running around with other dogs and kids. She is not yet spayed, but has an appointment at All About Animals in October to be spayed. Her weight is just around 30 lbs and we don't expect that she will get much bigger. Let me know if you have any other questions about her!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application!
