We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. Story
We acquired Shadow from my sister when he was a puppy. He is now a one-year-old Labrador Retriever with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Shadow is a loving and playful dog, but he has more energy than our young kids can handle. We are looking for a new home where Shadow can thrive with a family or individual who has the time and space to give him the exercise and attention he needs. Ideally, his new home will have a yard or access to outdoor areas where he can run and play. Shadow is friendly, loyal, and full of life. He's always ready for an adventure and loves to be active. We're looking for someone who can match his energy and give him the loving home he deserves.

Story
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1184183223004917 Ace’s story didn’t start off great, through no fault of his own, but we are certain he will have his happily furever after! Ace is a medium energy lab/pit mix. He walks great on a leash, and loves going on the shelter pack walks! He loves to cuddle and also play with his toys (preferably soft plastic spiky balls)! Ace came from a home with a small child that was his best friend in the whole world and would love to be a family dog again. Ace is a 4 year old, 60 lb, male, lab/pit mix. All pets that are adopted out of Animal Harbor are fully vetted. This means they are spayed/neutered and receive a Rabies, yearly vaccinations, preventatives for heartworms as well as flea/tick, and microchipped along with any additional vetting required to keep them healthy and happy. Dogs/puppies 6 months and above are all heartworm tested (and treated if needed). Animal Harbor is located in Middle TN, but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
Blossom is a petite girl with a spunky attitude, who loves to be in the middle of the action. She is pretty nimble for a 6 month old puppy and will chart a path to whatever treat she is after. She loves to give sweet kisses and will, with the slightest encouragement, plop her head on your lap for some ear and head scratches while she gazes up at you. Blossom’s sweet, playful nature helps her get along with every dog she meets. When she’s feeling extra cute, she will pull out her signature diving plop and roll. In new situations, Blossom tends to be timid but with a little coaxing (aka treats) she quickly gains confidence and gets her spunk back. If you have any chew toys lying around, you can be sure that Blossom will make sure they are well-loved. Details: Blossom is crate trained, mostly house trained, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. She gets along with kids and generally avoids cats. She is working on her basic commands and is up for adoption through Save-A-Stray. Feel free to contact me for more details/questions! If you need a buddy complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
