Story
Ladies and Gentlemen - Domino "Never have to worry about what is worst or what is best" Oh oh Domino Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022 - we think :) He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. He isn't overly fond of the other dogs here, so he might do better as a single dog until he gets used to being in a home setting again. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kingsley was born at our shelter on Feb. 11th. He strongly resembles his mom Hetty, who appears to be lab/beagle mix, maybe with terrier and/or heeler. We don't know who his daddy is. He was the smallest of his litter but has caught up nicely in size. His adoption fee of $150 covers all of his basic vet work - 3 distemper/parvo combo vaccinations, microchip, rabies shot (when old enough), and neuter surgery (when old enough). Kingsley's young life has had some bumps in the road. He and a couple of his siblings were born with some slightly bowed back legs which have caused some mobility issues. However they are getting stronger and more coordinated daily and we are hopeful that they will outgrow it as they mature. He's a tough little guy with an incredibly loving personality that just makes you want to give him all the love possible! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2025, 2:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dunbar was born at our shelter on Feb. 11th. His mom Hetty looks to be a lab/beagle mix, maybe with terrier and/or heeler. We don't know anything about the father(s). Dunbar is a rather petite pup with a typical happy and bouncy puppy personality. His adoption fee of $150 covers all of his basic vet work - all 3 distemper/parvo combo vaccinations, microchip, rabies vaccination (when old enough), and neuter surgery (when old enough). Dunbar will need a lot of training in all areas. We expect him to be medium to large size at maturity. He should do well with other dogs and is young enough to learn to behave with cats. Kids should be fine with proper supervision. He needs a committed home in which he's not left alone for long hours. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fernie was born at our shelter on Feb. 11th to Hetty, who appears to be a lab/beagle/terrier type mixed breed. Fernie is a petite gal like her momma and has a very loving, happy personality. Her adoption fee of $150 covers all of her basic vet work - 3 distemper/parvo combo vaccinations, microchip, rabies shot (when old enough) and spay surgery (when old enough). Fernie and a couple of her siblings were born with some slighly bowed hind legs that have caused some slight mobility issues. However they are getting stronger and more coordinated as they mature. We're confident that they'll outgrow it. It doesn't stop them from romping and wrestling around like regular pups. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bryson was born at our shelter on Feb. 11th. His mom Hetty looks to be a lab/beagle mix, maybe with terrier and/or heeler. We don't know who his daddy is but he strongly resembles a German shepherd. He is the biggest of the litter and is nearly twice the size of his siblings! His adoption fee of $150 covers all of his basic vet work - all 3 distemper/parvo combo shots, his rabies shot (when old enough), microchip, and neuter surgery (when old enough). Bryson's personality matches his size. He is boisterous, affectionate, and fun. He is a puppy, however, and will require a lot of training in all areas. We do think he'd do well with other dogs and is young enough to learn how to act appropriately around cats. Kids should be fine, too, with proper supervision. Story
Ares was rescued from a kill shelter in CA by a private party. They then rejected Ares off of transport. Following is the write up by the volunteers who know him the best. 🎖Ares leashes up fine and walks OK on the leash but definitely some room for improvement there. Upon returning to his kennel he walked right in and just stood there for me to take his leash off.❣️ He has a perfect sit and loves posing for pics. His dog tests went well he seemed relaxed around them and OK with sharing space. Likely best match with other calm dogs.🐌Please allow slow intros to resident dogs for success. That means weeks to months not hours to days.📆
