Story
Charlie is very energetic dog who loves people. He sometimes forgets how big he is and can be a little clumsy. He has had basic training and excels at sitting, staying, shake, and spins. Walks well with a no pull harness however fetch is not his choice of playtime. He’s done well with children around toddler age and above, we just think he needs more attention

Story
Oso is a 3-year-old black lab. He is very friendly; he loves playing with our 8yr old and 7 yr. old. He also gets along with our 1-year-old cat. Oso is potty trained and knows how to shake hands and sit at command. Oso is also very strong and energetic however he does have a hard time going on walks, he prefers to run in the yard. We are moving homes, and we will no longer be able to take Oso with us which makes us really sad, we really hope someone kind can adopt him because he is a really good boy who deserves a loving home.

Story
Lucas is a really mix breed. I know he is a Labrador mixed with Pitbull and with two other mixes. He is really kind and loves attention. He is not aggressive with people but he doesnt do well with other dogs. He knows the basic commands, and is a good listener. He has been around kids but does not pay them attention unless they pet him. Lucas is also a very anxious dog and gets scared of loud noises. Lucas is also 5 years old and his birthday is December 9th 2018, he will turn 6 soon. He's not a really hyper dog, he loves to lay around, so if you play catch he’ll play for a few rounds then just watch you throw while laying down. I want Lucas to be in a home thatll have time for him and give him attention. He deserves to have so much love and care, it’s painful to have to give him away but my family and I can no longer care for him. Hes a sweet boy who has so much love to give and deserves to get as much love back and more. I want someone who will be loving and patient to Lucas.

Story
I LIKE BIG MUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE! What up? The name is Skip, but I spell it $kip. I’m a 2 yr old, 80 lb, housebroken, crate trained, good-lookin’ mutt. Not 1 application has been turned in for me in 7 months though. Ain’t that a bunch of bull! I guess maybe it’s because I don’t like to kick it with other animals too much, but come on, I deserve a forever family too! I don’t need dog parks and play dates, but I’d love a running partner or a fenced in yard…And I don’t mean running from the cops or a fenced in prison yard. I want to sniff all the smells, snuggle with my people, chew all the bones and toys, go for car rides in the Benz, and be a loyal homeboy. I first came to this bada$$ rescue when they saved me and other animals from a hoarding/neglect case in a small Nebraska town. I had lived my whole life outside on a tight chain hooked to a tree…Unfortunately I’m not talking about a gold chain. The chain was basically embedded in my neck and required special equipment to remove. I had several canine siblings at that house who have since all been adopted, but now I’m requesting no more furry siblings for me. I love humans though and I dream about going on adventures with my own someday. I’m a strong guy, so your 92 year old Granny and your newborn baby are probably not great matches for my forever home. No disrespect.  I’ve been neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, and I’m ready for my happy-ever-after! I would love to share my joy for life with you! My adoption donation fee is $250. Please fill out an application in the drop down menu on our website at: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! August 13, 2024, 12:06 am

Story
Saffron’s comeback tour begins now!  She is a beautiful 4-5 year old medium sized girl returned to us after two years in a home that did not meet her needs. We were told she did not get along with the resident dog.  She was incredibly shut down when she arrived, but has quickly decompressed and is wagging her tail, smiling, and seeking human affection.  She has quickly become a volunteer favorite, and we have no doubt she will find a forever family that will offer her mutual love and affection.  Give her a chance to trust you and she will forever love you. We invite you to see this beautiful girl!  The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. They will determine if you and/or your family are a fit and if so, provide instructions for completing the application.   After you have submitted an application and have been approved, we will setup a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. Applications are reviewed in order of receipt.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1289117##

Story
Hey! Danny (DOB 9/21/2020) here! I am Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix who's looking for a new, active home. I have been with my foster family for a while and whereas they are pretty wonderful, I am ready to leave the nest and find my own place. I am almost 3 years old now and have outgrown the puppy-mouthing phase but still love some one-on-one snuggle time on the couch with my favorite human. My crate is a cool place to hang out in when my foster fam can’t take me in the car with them, especially when I have my special bone or a puzzle to work on to keep me busy. My foster dog siblings are cool to hang out with so a dog brother or sister would be okay although being an only (dog) child would be okay too. I'm okay with the felines if they leave me alone. And I am a little nervous meeting new people and dogs so apartment life still isn’t meant for me. New things can be a little scary but continual self-improvement is a lifelong goal of mine so who wants to learn some new things together? For example, I have learned car rides are fun and there are these things called drive throughs where people hand you yummy treats. I would love to find someone to explore some new places (i.e. drive throughs) with. I love to explore new places on walks too so we can get some exercise in together after visiting the drive throughs. Who's up for some new adventures? Before applying to adopt Danny, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Danny is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1107116##

Story
Do you have a soft spot for large dogs? Are you fortunate enough to reside on a farm or boast a spacious backyard? Do you relish going on runs alongside a furry companion or even better, two furry buddies? If that resonates with you, then you've hit the jackpot! Allow me to introduce Berkley, who is bonded with her sister Bella - both delightful Lab/Australian Shepherd mixes! These senior darlings (b. 2017) are in search of a loving home where they can frolic freely, indulge in games of fetch, and cuddle up on cozy nights. Berkley and Bella are affectionate and exuberant dogs that get along well with children and would do well with older kids (age 10+) because of their exuberancy and size. Now, here's the catch about Berkley and Bella - they have a mischievous streak! When the opportunity strikes, they seize the chance to dig under the fence and embark on adventurous escapades. (We did mention their love for running around!) Ensuring a highly secure fence is non-negotiable for these two escapologists. Both Berkley and Bella showcase intelligence, are adept at performing various tricks, and derive joy from their shared playtime. The suggested adoption donation for Berkley & Bella together is $450. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. Are you a big dog lover? Do you live on a farm or have a big backyard? Do you enjoy going for runs with a furry friend? What about 2 furry friends? If this sounds like you, then, JACKPOT! Meet Bella, bonded with brother Berkley, who are both Lab/Australian Shepherd mixes! These 7-year-old babies (b. 2017) are looking for a new home where they can run around all day, play fetch, & snuggle at night. Both Berkley & Bella are very friendly dogs who do well with kids, especially older kids (age 10+) because of their size. Here's the thing about Berkley & Bella.. they have been pretty sneaky, and when mom & dad aren't looking, they have been known to dig under the fence and take off running. (We DID say they love running around) So, a very secure fence is a MUST with these two. Both of these dogs are very smart and know quite a few tricks and love playing together. Story
Hello from Shadowfax!  He is a Lab mix born September 2022.  He is potty trained, crate trained, treat motivated and much improved on his leash skills, but still working on it. He loves his people and LOVES cuddling. Shadowfax would probably be okay around older kids (age 10+). He loves to run in the yard and play with his toys in the house.  He is not always kenneled when left alone and is not destructive if left out.   Shadowfax would do best with a fenced yard.  He is a little nervous around new people, but given about 10 minutes of time to adjust, he seems more comfortable.  He does well playing with big or small dogs and he would be comfortable on his own or with another dog in the house.  He would probably do well with cats after an introduction, but it's unknown.  What else do you need to know?  Let's find this guy a home of his home - apply today!! The suggested adoption donation for Shadowfax is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $300,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement:  If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.
