Bingo is a 3 year old neutered male Lab Mix. He is recently in from Tennessee. He has a cherry eye which VFA will have done and pay for as soon as it can be scheduled. Bingo is a sweet boy who is good with other dogs. He is also microchipped. Bingo is currently at the Shelter. Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $300 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please email us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted. Here is the adoption process: To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. I adopted Josie in May as my son's yellow lab, Casper, needed a playmate. They had a few territorial issues in the beginning but the rest of the time they were best buds. Josie seems to be going through his terrible two's as he recently has been aggressive towards Casper. I think Josie needs to be in a home where he is the only pet. He absolutely loves people and kids. He is full of life and plays well by himself.

Candy was abandoned on a lonely road in the countryside of Puerto Rico where she did not stand a chance at survival. Luckily a passerby spotted her and brought her to rescue as a young pup! She has been raised in foster with much love and affection and is now very loving and affectionate. We describe Candy as a happy dog! She is beautiful with one blue eye and one brown eye. Cora came to us from the local shelter after being surrendered, due to her diabetes. She had lost weight at a drastic pace, and was in need of medical attention to take care of her diabetic needs as soon as possible. We took her into the rescue, and she has been living with us for a few months! Cora is in higher spirits, and is now looking for a foster home! Cora is 9 years old and currently weighs about 40 lbs. She is a super sweet girl who will consistently rub her face on you to receive pets! She will also never deny a belly rub! Cora currently receives insulin injections twice daily for her diabetes. She does well with her shots, and loves when she gets lots of praise and kisses after! If you are interested in fostering or adopting please reach out to us!
