1/15/25: Meet Clay! Clay and his sister, Shay, are gorgeous pups. They are your typical puppies who love to run and romp around. They are learning their house manners and are doing quite well. They are good with other dogs and kids. They are crate trained also. Clay would do best with another young active dog. He would make a great hiking or jogging partner. He is presently being fostered where he has a lot of space to fun and play. Clay and his sister Shay can be found together 99.9% of the time; sleeping, running, whatever the case may be. If you would like to meet Clay, please submit an application. Clay will begin his vaccine series asap. Adoption fee includes: Vet exam, rabies, vaccines, lifetime microchip, deworming, flea treatment and neuter. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.

Story
Princess is just the sweetest girl. She is approx. 9 months old, is good with other dogs, curious about cats but doesn't seem to chase them. She is playful and would do great with a dog friend who likes to play too. She doesn't seem interested in stuffed toys, but she loves sticks! She is crate trained and doing great with housebreaking. She can be on the shy side at first, but warms up very quickly. She loves being outside, but also makes a great couch buddy. If interested in meeting this beautiful gal, please submit an application. Story
Amber came to us as a 10 week old orphan who had been abandoned behind a discount store with her two brothers, who carried the physical Shepherd traits. We quickly realized she had a different personality than any other dog we've had. She was full of energy and vigor, and so loving and affectionate. We bought the book, "The Art of Raising a Puppy" by the monks of New Skete who are renowned for their Shepherd dogs. We did our best to give her leadership, but when my ex and I split up, she became more reactive to thresholds. Over the years, she has become reactive to our five cats, and the tension in the home has become untenable. She isn't living her best life with us, and she deserves it. She will be best suited to be the only pet to a devoted owner, but she has a dog companion, and has previously enjoyed dog parks and adventuring in the woods with friends' dogs. Her ideal home would be in a country setting. She is just a big baby who needs a strong leader and lots of cuddles.

🌟 COURTESY POST 🌟 Meet Mini! 😍 This lovely one year old Lab is desperate for a home! We aren’t able to take her in right now but want to help as much as we can. Mini’s people previously weren’t up to the task of giving the time and attention needed for a Lab puppy, which is not her fault at all. Of course she needs plenty of activity and training like any Lab puppy! But her possibilities are endless with the right family. 💗 Mini loves people and has done well with the children she’s been around as well as other dogs, though she’d do best without cats. She’s been spayed and vaccinated already! Mini enjoys car rides and knows some basic commands but needs training with leash walks and being left home alone, though getting the exercise she needs should really help with her learning. Please message us if you’re interested in Mini so we can connect you with her people. If you can’t give her a home, please share! 🙏 Adoption apps can be filled out here: www.tiogacountycatproject.com/adoption

Story
Hi, I'm Freddy, a four-year-old mixed breed. Sadly, my previous family couldn't take care of me anymore, so I came to Stray Haven. I'm a good boy who's still adjusting to the shelter environment. It can be intimidating for me, especially since I'm a bit shy and tend to keep to myself.Although I may not appear very sociable at the shelter, I'm optimistic that a kind and patient individual will give me a chance to get to know them. Once I establish a bond and feel at ease, I enjoy cuddling and engaging in playful activities. I'm a friendly and mild-mannered young fellow who simply requires some time to acclimate to unfamiliar surroundings and individuals.I'm looking for a loving home where I can feel safe and secure. Ideally, my new family will be able to give me plenty of attention, exercise, and positive reinforcement. With a little patience and understanding, I'll make a loyal and loving companion for someone out there.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays
