Story
Are you ready to welcome an energetic and lovable companion into your life? Meet Monty, the handsome 2-year-old pup who's ready to leap out of the shelter and into your heart! With his sleek black coat and big goofy ears, Monty is nothing short of a canine heartthrob.Having spent over a year at the shelter, Monty is eager to find a forever home where he can unleash his playful spirit. We are eager for him to finally experience the spoiled dog life in a home! This big puppy has a zest for life that's contagious! He absolutely loves splashing around in the water, making him the perfect partner for summer outings and swimming adventures.Monty thrives on fun doggie day trips and car rides-nothing makes him happier than feeling the wind in his fur and exploring new places with his humans. While he does enjoy the company of people, Monty is selective about his dog friends and is not a fan of kitties! If you currently have a dog friendly canine, a dog meet would be required. Monty would however do best with dog-savvy teens who understand his quirky personality! This charming boy has the ability to walk beautifully on leash with a few gentle reminders here and there. With his regular friends who walk him, he has learned what they expect from him on leash, making daily walks an enjoyable experience for scoping out the river and taking in the views. Despite his playful energy, Monty is eager to learn and is very treat motivated! He's ready to grow and thrive with an experienced owner who can offer guidance and structure.Monty's silly faces and playful antics will surely bring laughter and happiness into your home! If you're ready to fill your life with love, fetch, cuddles and unforgettable adventures, Monty is waiting for you. Come meet this lovable goofball and take him home today!

Story
Good Sporning! You've stumbled upon our fungi-rl Chanterelle. This smiling beam of sunshine is up for adoption, meaning you may just be the sole mate shes been waiting for! At 45 pounds and 3 years old, this girl is the biggest mushie you'll ever meet. Shes super enthusiastic about giving hugs and making people happy! Clearly she is far from sporing. Chanterelle loves other dogs with similar energy too. Playful yet respectful? Sign her up! Elle is partially housebroken and obviously kindhearted, but her good qualities don't cap there. She walks well on leash, knows how to sit, and would be good with dog savvy kiddos! She'd make an excellent companion for any fun guy or girl! So, what do you say? Is there mush-room in your heart and home for Chanterelle? Perfect, come on down and adopt her today!

Koa came to us a few months ago from Puerto Rico. Sadly, just a few days after they arrived they came down with parvo. Heartbroken, we lost 4 of his siblings to this horrendous virus. Koa is now fully recovered and 5 months old. He is doing great and settled in. He is already vetted, chipped, altered and with a Binghamton, NY foster home. Story
Hi, I'm Freddy, a three-year-old mixed breed. Sadly, my previous family couldn't take care of me anymore, so I came to Stray Haven. I'm a good boy who's still adjusting to the shelter environment. It can be intimidating for me, especially since I'm a bit shy and tend to keep to myself.Although I may not appear very sociable at the shelter, I'm optimistic that a kind and patient individual will give me a chance to get to know them. Once I establish a bond and feel at ease, I enjoy cuddling and engaging in playful activities. I'm a friendly and mild-mannered young fellow who simply requires some time to acclimate to unfamiliar surroundings and individuals.I'm looking for a loving home where I can feel safe and secure. Ideally, my new family will be able to give me plenty of attention, exercise, and positive reinforcement. With a little patience and understanding, I'll make a loyal and loving companion for someone out there.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays
