Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     This is a sad story in which we are hoping for a happy forever family for 10m old Patty from Albania. She will be here in March. Patty's Rescue Story Patty was reported to us as a dog that had been hit by a car on the highway in the morning. Given the number of cars that passed her, we assumed someone would have stopped to help. However, after work, we decided to go check on her to ensure she had received assistance. Our hearts sank when we found her still lying there 12 hours later; not a single person had stopped to help. We immediately took her to the veterinarian, where it was discovered that she had a broken pelvis and a broken leg. After healing in a clinic cage, she now resides in a shelter. Name : PattyAge: 10 Months Weight: 44lbeGender: female Breed: mix/lab possibly ?Spayed: yes Vacines: yes up to date 4dx snap : negative Good with dogs: yesGood with kids : yesGood with cats: not testsBehavior issues: none House broken: (never lived in a home) About Patty Patty is a sweet soul. She loves people and is always in a cheerful mood. She is extremely affectionate. She enjoys water and has a playful spirit. She’s quiet and not much of a barker. There isn’t much negative to say about Patty, except that she had a rough start in her young life. While Patty walks a little off due to her past injuries, she is full of life, and nothing holds her back from doing what she wants to do.All the dogs love her.       All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Story
Sable is being fostered in Tennessee. Sable is a wonderful dog whose only goal in life is to cuddle you and be loved. Sable is a confident dog who gets along with cats and every single dog he has met. Nothing phases Sable, he loves to go on adventures, rides great in the car and is a perfect gentleman on a leash. Sable will do well in a quiet or hectic household, he doesn't startle easily and overcomes new challenges quickly. He uses a doggy door, kennels well and runs the house freely without worry. Sable does have some separation anxiety and does not like to be left alone...other animals in the house are a comfort but he really wants humans nearby. He is not destructive but does search for you if you leave. He has puppy energy but a walk or another dog to play with will make him content and he will be a couch potato with you once you get energy off him. Great with kids of all ages and will make an amazing family dog. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Hello! I am saddened to do this as you probably read on everyone’s posts. Duke is a great dog. Fully crate trained , very energetic, kinda loves cuddles but doesn’t like to admit it. doesn’t like when other dogs try to eat his food when he is eating. He loves pets and sometimes gets too excited and pees a little. He is the best dog and has been for me for 4 years. He doesn’t get all the love he needs and deserves due to me being in the military and soon moving.

Story
Curly arrived through our cruelty department with a few other dogs and weighs about 44 pounds. His buddies have all been adopted while Curly is still waiting. Curly is energetic and gets super excited to go for walks with volunteers but once he’s out and walking he’s attentive and minds his leash manners. Despite his young age he also has no issue with hanging out and relaxing if that`s what the day calls for.DOG-FRIENDLY
