Story
Willow is a 1-1/2 year old Rottie / chocolate lab mix (according to DNA test) We adopted her a little over a year ago. Willow is great with dogs, cats, and kids. She did go to doggie school for a few weeks and is house trained as well as crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and being outside in the sun! Most loving dog and loves everyone! She still thinks she is a 20lb puppy lapdog.

Story
Bailey is a blind 2-year-old spayed female lab mix. She is the sweetest girl and is totally crate trained and house trained. She manages to find her way outside and even in the rain will do her business outside. Unfortunately Bailey has multiple blinding ocular issues that were genetic congenital birth defects. These defects affected her retina (retinal dysplasia). She either had an infectious disease or untreated juvenile genetic cataracts which led to secondary glaucoma which ultimately led to retinal detachments from lens induced inflammation. Unfortunately Bailey is not a candidate for cataract surgery and the goal for her now is to maintain the Comfort level of her eyes. Currently they are both quiet and don't seem to be causing her any discomfort. But her eyes will need to be monitored for the rest of her life. It is a possibility that if her glaucoma were to return and it were to become too severe she would potentially need to have one or both of her eyes removed. While Bailey can not see the world around her it does not stop her from getting around and enjoying everything life has to offer! Bailey is good with dogs of all sizes, cats and kids. If interested in adopting, please send an email to lowcountryanimalrescue@Ymail.com for an application. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Meet our two little beans Thelma & Louise! These two itty bitty girls were found on the side of the road all by their lonesome. We were pulling a different set of dogs from the shelter and saw these two in a staff members office! We currently have a nursing momma with puppies who are 2 days older than these girls so we were able to introduce these two to the momma dog and the rest was history! Now that they have a momma dog looking after them they truly have a fighting chance! Thelma and Louise are around 4 weeks old currently and need about another month before looking for forever homes. Follow along for more updates on these sweet baby girls!

Story
Meet our Independence Day Litter! These babies were quite the surprise! We pulled their momma, Gumbo almost two months prior and there was no indication she was carrying a fully belly of babies! Gumbo went on to see two different vets as she was having some digestive issues and still-no sign of puppies! Low and behold when it came time for her spay surgery it was evident she was about to give birth! We have only ever had that happen once before, sometimes these momma's are super sneaky about their babies! Well nonetheless Gumbo, a 50 pound yellow lab gave birth to thirteen healthy tiny little beans on the fourth of July during all the fireworks! Momma was the best and doted on her little ones 24/7 all growing like little weeds! Momma was so amazing that she even took in 2 little surrogate puppies who have been thriving ever since! We have no idea who dad was but these babies hardly weigh a pound and are almost 6 weeks old! They will be ready to go around 8/29 and will be fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and will be spayed/neutered as they reach the appropriate weights! If interested in adopting apply today at www.dustytailsanimalrescue.org Be warned you will get serious puppy aggression and want to squeeze them all because they are SO stinking cute.
