Story
$50 Adoption fee! Why so low? Yakima County is spilling over with stray and dumped dogs. Our goal is to get dogs into the right homes ASAP so we can help other dogs in need. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! Luckily, Scout was the only one in his litter to contract Parvo. He spent some time hospitalized with the Humane Society before being transferred to us. What a fun pup to foster - he’s such a sweet boy, so loving and playful. This dog is located in Selah, WA. PetFinder allows multiple postings of the same animal as long as the postings are 100 miles apart from each other. This way we can reach far and wide to find the perfect home for this dog. If driving to Selah is difficult for you, we will do our best to find a rescue partner to meet you halfway. Story
Little Bucket here (80lbs) is a black lab mixed with who knows what! Once he warms up to you, he loves you so much! He is currently almost 10 months old, but he picks up training pretty well! This guy loves having a task to do, so rest assured, he will come with all his favorite toys! About bucket -he loves ice cubes -crate trained -seperation anxiety Bucket's backstory: He was taken in by my roommate, we assume Bucket was 8 weeks. (Yes I have baby pictures) 3 months later, he moves out and leaves the dog. Me and 2 other roommates helped step up and care for the boy, but he has a lot more energy than any of us can keep up with. Because of his physical needs not being met, he has been acting out frequently. If his needs are met properly, he is a wonderful dog, super receptive to training. We love him so much, but our house is not the right fit. Bucket needs more space and someone with energy for him!

Story
Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. Maximus is a friendly goober with a good amount of energy. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his mannered but responds well to correction. He deserves only the best home after what he has been through. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? She has so much potential to become an amazing companion, and with the right guidance, she’ll be the loyal, loving dog you`ve been looking for.If you`re willing to give Lucy the time and care she needs to build confidence, you’ll have a sweet and devoted best friend for life!Come meet Lucy today, she is currently available for adoption at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org and a staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal`s picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don`t Shop.
