Story
Animal Profile: May is an adorable dachshund mix who is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs around 12lbs. We suspect she had puppies not too long before ending up at a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA. She arrived in Seattle on March 16th and is getting settled into foster care.  Foster Update: Meet May! She is a sweet, gentle soul that is starting to come out of her shell in foster care. May wants you to know that she is a total cuddle bug and lap dog, though she is a little shy and nervous around new people at first, so she just asks that you're patient and give her some time to warm up. May is crate trained and potty trained, and she knows some basic tricks like "paw" and "sit". She is still timid in the outside world and gets nervous passing other dogs or people on walks. With more confidence and time to come out of her shell, we could see May really enjoying her time outdoors. May would do best in a more quiet/laid back household where she can continue to come out of her shell. She would love a forever family that is committed to helping her build up her confidence and get more comfortable in the outside world. May would do best in an adult-only household, and may benefit from another confident canine companion in the home. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at San Bernardino in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on March 16th. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 9, 2025, 4:12 pm

Story
ChuyAnimal Profile: Chewy is an estimated 12-18 month old, ~15-20lb chihuahua/dachshund mix (best guess) who was found as a stray in San Bernardino and completed his stray hold with our rescue partner ARF. He has been assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. He loves to run and play with people and is absolutely adorable; we are smitten! We will share more information as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Updates: Meet Chewy! He is your perfectly sized friend, just under 20lbs and ready for all your cuddles and adventures! Chewy was pretty nervous when he first arrived with us, and needed a few days to acclimate and realize he was in safe hands. After a few days of decompressing, he was ready to show off his cuddly side and love for cozy dog beds. Chewy is a great companion in his foster home. He bonds quick with his people and loves to hangout by your side and accompany you on house tasks or keeping you company if you work from home. He is still a bit nervous in the outside world and can be intimidated by other dogs or new people. He does best with a slow introduction when meeting someone new, and he is curious about other dogs but does best with a confident handler on the other end of the leash. Chewy is learning some great leash manners in his foster home and getting more comfortable day by day. Chewy would do best in an adult-only forever  home. He wouldn't mind being a solo dog, but would also benefit from another calm, confident dog in his pack.  Adoption Information: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, recent vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Ruffles was a stray intake in San Bernradino, rescued in collaboration with our rescue partner ARF, and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/2/25. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 3, 2025, 6:52 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Remy is an adorable purebred Miniature Pinscher who is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 13lbs. He would up in a southern California shelter after he was brought into a local emergency vet after he was possibly hit by a car. Remy was treated for possible fractured ribs when he arrived at the shelter, but has since recovered. He is very friendly with people and other dogs, and we look forward to helping him find the best home here in the PNW! Foster Update: Rembrandt ( Remy)  loves to play fetch inside with soft toys. He can do it next to other dogs or one on one with a human. He is clear to be homed with cats. He loves being outside and gets extra excited when he sees a bird, so some prey drive exists, but not towards cats. He sleeps through the night in his crate and only whistle whines a bit when first put inside. He does cuddle once he gets some fetch zoomies out of his system. Remy is friendly with dogs and humans, but we would prefer to place him in a home with no kids or older children (10+).  Remy can be shy with humans at first, but is friendly and affectionate and enjoys belly rubs once he warms up. Like most little dogs, Remy does not appreciate when humans stick their giant hands out his tiny head.    He’ll submit and let you pick him up still, but a little shy if reached or grabbed at too fast. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at SBC in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 02/13/25.  This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 17, 2025, 2:51 pm
