ABOUT GIDGET: This girl is half of a bonded pair. Gidget and Gizmo have been together for years and depend on each other. GIDGET's ORIGIN: This sweet girl was left homeless with her partner, GIZMO, when her owner went into a nursing home. They are presently living in a foster home but need a permanent home, soon. HEALTH: We had her vet checked, shots updated and her teeth cleaned 7/16/24. GIDGET's PERSONALITY: Remember, this is a major lifestyle change for her. So we are looking for an adopter who is patient and gentle with her and lets her become more comfortable with your home. She rarely barks unless there is a new person entering the house. She is a good car rider and walks well on a leash. She seems potty trained, but we rarely guarantee this because all home environments are different. RORESCUE NOTES: We are looking for an "forever" adopter who will give GIDGET and GIZMO a safe loving home and keep them "forever" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FYI, there is NO public funding that helps Rescue Groups with veterinary expenses. We use our own vets and we pay them thru adoption fees and donations. Lately, veterinary fees have escalated, making it harder and harder to offer affordable adoption fees, but we try. Please be considerate when deciding to adopt a "Rescue dog". ALL RORESCUE DOGS are vet checked, spayed/neutered, dental cleaning (if needed), microchipped and UTD on shots. NOT DONE: Full blood panel/Valley Fever/Tick Fever/Heartworm testing is NOT customarily done, unless veterinary suggested RoRescue adopts their dogs as INDOOR pets, with sufficient supervised outdoor exercise time. RoRescue requires a secure yard and safe environment for this dog. We do NOT adopt to out-of area or out of state locations.

Foster Notes:Meet my new foster named Meeko. Vets believe Meeko is a Bichon Frise mix about 7 years old and about 12 Lbs. He was found wandering the streets and was severely matted. He has been with me a few days and is surprisingly brave with my dogs but very sad and a bit scared. He must have had a great home initially, as he is fully house trained, knows a doggy door and gets along well with all my other dogs. Unfortunately, Meeko was not chipped and no one showed up to claim him at PACC and thus was subsequently released to foster care with SAFE Animal Rescue of Tucson and ultimately to me. I doubt I will have him very long as he is super cute and looks like a mix of puppy and leopard. He is one of the nicest Fosters I've ever met. He eats well, loves car rides and going for walks. A real winner for sure. Meeko was diagnosed with chronic benign hamartoma, and significant age-related joint changes in kneecaps so a Health Wavier will be required at time of adoption.
