Django also guards- this means he does not share food and will be very unhappy if you attempt to take it away. Care should be taken when feeding Django, or if food is dropped on the floor. He is currently in training and working hard on his food guarding protocol; we hope this will lessen the severity of his guarding. Django is a friendly and brave soul. Independent yet playful, he has a spirit that lights up any room. Django's courage is admirable, and his playful antics never fail to bring a smile. Sam was born around June 26, 2022 and weighs about 28 pounds. Sam is with us after his human was no longer able to care for him. Sam arrived with extremely matted hair but thanks to our incredible volunteers he is much more comfy! Sam has been a pleasure to get to know and meet everyone with enthusiasm. Sam rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. We are told Sam is good with children but we have noticed he sometimes gets a bit uncomfortable when asked to do something he would rather not do so we are going to say older kids only. Sam gets along beautifully with the other dogs here but we are not sure about cats yet. Sam was very uncomfortable with his 1st grooming but we can't blame him for that based on the condition he was in. A few days after his initial grooming his foster dad was able to trim up his face and we feel that with consistent, positive, interactions with a good groomer, he is going to be absolutely fine with it in the future. Sam is a very happy boy and ready for a fresh start! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
