Story
March 13th, Updated profile, please read: - Mickey must have another dog in his home. - Mickey gets distressed if he is not with his people. He would love to have an adopter who is home the majority of the day. - When Mickey is distressed, he can loudly bark/whine. *********** Mickey is Albino which resulted in him being deaf and blind, but you wouldn’t know it, that is until you see him wander into something. He is the sweetest little pup. He loves to be on your lap or in bed with you. He can even jump in and out of the bed. He is surprisingly agile. Mickey is wonderfully “clingy” because he needs to smell you to know where you are. He walks really well on a leash. Mickey is incredibly soft and a very portable size. He was also extremely patient during grooming (despite extreme and painful matting) and an extremely gentle soul. He navigates the world incredibly well by smell and vibration. He can tell where his foster mom and foster-dog siblings are. If can’t find you, he’ll sniff you out quickly. He loves toys and spending some time outside. He also knows how to get in and out of the dog door (which he figured out in no time at all). Mickey likes going places and meeting new people, especially in the car. He is also very fond of other dogs. Mickey is also still naughty like a puppy! He enjoys ripping up paper and could provide the perfect “dog ate my homework” excuse. Mickey is learning to play with other dogs. He has done okay with cats. He is learning to give them space (especially if they have claws!). Mickey loves to snuggle with an 11yo human child. He is learning how to be more gentle with his play style. Mickey’s foster family takes him to “puppy playgroup group” so he can play with other dogs in a safe setting. He is very smart! Mickey is being fostered in NE Denver. In his “forever home”, he is hoping for: - A safe backyard. - Confident & playful dog friend(s) - An adopter who is willing to train him. He is very busy and smart, so he needs to expend energy! Given Mickey’s the energy, we feel he needs to be in a home with a yard. An apartment will be challenging. Mickey also barks if he is crated during the day.

Story
Meet Emmy Lou! She is guessed to be a 7 yr old Maltese/Yorkie mix, who is only around 7.0 bs. She was rescued from a hoarder/backyard breeder in OK, along with a few other lucky pups! She is a gentle soul with a mellow disposition and loads of curiosity about her surroundings. Emmy Lou is becoming more outgoing and confident each day and is learning how good it is to be loved on by humans! She came from a place with lots and lots of dogs so is good with dogs. She needs a loving home to show her how good life can be as a beloved family member. She will need her safe place kennel and a small play yard around the kennel to begin with while you spend time in her safe area helping her to get used to you and her new surroundings. She will also need a small fenced yard or being slowing walked in the yard on a leash until she gains confidence with you and her new life. This sweet girl has been fostered with one of our dog trainers who specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy, scared or unsocialized dogs. She is now in the home of a "scared dog" volunteer and foster learning more about a quiet home environment. Her current foster family has observed her will to be a brave and outgoing girl. Her original foster mom as a trainer has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help scared dogs and began Emmy Lou's work on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, and doggie door training. There are lots of other dogs at her original foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Cats would likely be fine if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster family is located in Johnstown, Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter with time to spend helping Emmy Lou continue to gain confidence and learn about leash walking. Committing to one paid training session with our scared-dog expert is recommended since this training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training will help the family and Emmy Lou adjust to their new life together much quicker than trying to do it without expert coaching. She provides a discount on training to her adopters.
