Story
Nana was rescued from a high kill shelter located in Incheon, Korea. She came to us fearful of people and other animals, suggesting that she might have endured difficult experience at a young age. She was weak, dehydrated and suffering from malnutrition. Thanks to our foster mom, Nana made huge improvements and ready to meet her family. We are looking for a family who will continue to provide proper training. PLEASE NOTE: All of our recently rescued dogs are currently fostered in Seoul, Korea by our volunteers. Our adoption process may be stricter than any other rescue organization as these rescued dogs are traveling over 5500 miles to be with their new permanent family. You must be at least 25 years old to be considered an overseas adopter. For serious inquiries only. Please note, we monitor all pets after adoption. We prefer adopters that are active on any of the social media accounts. Thank you!

Milo (pronounced Me-Lo) is a precious Maltese/Poodle mix. He's so tiny at only 10 pounds, but this little guy wants all the attention. He doesn't like other dogs or children. Milo is neutered, fully vaccinated. Potty trained, leash trained, enjoys long walks, and playing fetch. Can be anxious at times, and tends to bark a little. Hesitant when meeting new people, but once he gets to know you, he's very loving. If you are interested in adopting Milo, please complete an adoption application on our website to be pre-approved: www.dachshundrescueoflosangeles.comOctober 29, 2024, 1:06 am

Story
Meet little miss Molly! This little girl was rescued by Ace of Hearts right before her deadline to be euthanized... all because no one wanted to give her a chance. Left to the elements and to fend for herself at only 12lbs she developed some skin issues (that we are treating) and everyone decided Molly was not for them. Fortunately, we looked past all of that and saw that this precious little girl was to be the pampered princess of her forever home one day. Molly is sweet, affectionate, and just loves to cuddle with her foster. We would love for her to never know anything but this care for the rest of her life. Can you make miss Molly the happiest girl in the world?

Story
"Hope is a funny and friendly girl who is on the hunt for a loving retirement home. This smart senior is affectionate and loves to lounge on the couch - can you picture her curled up next to you? She would be the perfect addition to a home where she can spend her golden years being petted and adored. Due to her age and temperament, Hope is best suited to a home without dogs or cats, as she prefers to be the center of attention. She's a quirky girl who warms up quickly and will be your best friend in no time. This little cutie was found tied to a pole on a street corner in Los Angeles on Figueroa covered in hundreds of ticks. She needed a complete dental and to have teeth pulled when we took her to the vet for the works. She is good with other dogs but will not share her food at alll. If you're looking for a sweet and funny companion, Hope is the one for you! (Bonus points if you're a senior yourself, as she loves the company of people her own age)" she will use the bathroom outside and has perfect aim to pee on the potty pads but doesn't poop on them. If you would like to give her a home please text 714-882-9865 and complete the application online at www.rescuemepets.com/forms

***only accepting applications from homes with other dogs*** Hi, I'm Jesse—a sweet boy looking for a forever family to love me just the way I am! I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I feel safe, my heart is full of love to give. I was found at the shelter in rough shape with a lacerated leg, but thanks to Much Love, I healed perfectly and ready for a fresh start! I’m already going on long walks and love running around to burn off energy. I’m an active boy, so I thrive in a more active environment where I can run, play, and keep up with the action. Having a doggy companion is super important to me, especially when my humans are out. I do best when I have another dog to play with and keep me company. While I’m still learning to be potty trained, I’m making great progress, and a patient family to help me along would be perfect! Once I trust you, I’ll be your little shadow—always by your side, looking for cuddles and companionship. If you're active and ready to give me the love, patience, and time I need to continue growing, I just might be the perfect match for you. Could you be the family I’ve been waiting for? I’d love to meet you and see if we’re a perfect fit! Much Love, Jesse

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET SIR JORDY….”one of the nicest dogs we’ve ever transported for you!” That’s what our transporter said when he brought him to us from San Bernardino. This sweetheart is likely Maltese/Pomeranian (sheds a little), 10.5 lbs, 1.5-2 yrs old and almost pure white! If you don’t like kisses, stop reading here because that’s how he greets you! He is just a puppy so he sometimes gets carried away and might nip your nose! For that reason, we think he would be best in a home with older kids (over 8 yrs), he definitely wants another dog to hang around with and a yard would be awesome. He can be very mellow…mostly when he is sleeping! But he loves to play and he is really smart and wants to please you. Exercise and walks will tired him out and then he will love to cuddle with you and he will sit on your lap…just not all day! He really wouldn’t be good in a mature home — he wants to see the world! Jordy is just learning how to walk on a leash, so occasionally he will get really excited and jump high up in the air! Can be a wiggle worm, as he just got neutered and didn’t love his cone of shame! He came to us with huge matts behind his ears and while his coat turned out great, he was carrying around everything with him but the kitchen sink. It was just too lovely to shave and he is very proud of it! If you have the “right stuff” Jordy would love to join your family! He won’t be at adoptions until November 24 — just in time for Thanksgiving! Is this a fluff ball you could fall in love with? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET MAXWELL….A precocious, 10 lb, tri colored, 1yr old, Maltese/ShihTzu, who was given up because his pet mom didn’t feel she could provide the attention and environment he needed to thrive. That would include another dog in the home who Max can play with…a family with kids over 8 yrs old…a yard…and lots and lots of love and attention! He is just learning what a belly rub is, but as time goes on, he gets more and more comfortable and wants to be cuddled a little bit more each day! Puppies can be a lot of work, and Maxwell has a ton of energy! After all…..he’s a pup with all the characteristics one should have!! Max is very curious, active, playful, kissy, friendly with everyone, everything you want a youngin’ to be! He loves kids and other other dogs….and should have both (another young, playful dog is a must) in his life!! Kids over 8 yrs best so he doesn’t knock them over! This is one adorable pup, who just needs time to acclimate and feel safe in his environment. On walks, Max gets distracted easily and wants to explore the world! Training will be in the cards for him, so he doesn’t pull on the leash! He mostly doesn’t lift his leg when he pees — except occasionally on a tree or bush! He doesn’t like to be left alone and will cry for a bit but then settles down. For this reason, we think he would be better off in a home than an apartment, and a yard will be ideal for him to get out his energy with another young pup to hang around with. His potty training seems to be going well…but we never guarantee at your house. He does use PP pads 🙂 Maxwell wants to be in his forever home for the holidays. Can you make that happen? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ACE….and he's a special guy!  This 15 lb, 3.5 yr old, tan/golden, Lhasa Apso X, came from the Carson Shelter, after another rescue pulled his brother and left him behind.  Poor guy has been through hell, as this was his second abandonment after his thoughtless owners dumped them both in the shelter “because they were moving!!”  This broke our hearts.  I jumped into my car, pulled him out and immediately took him to the groomer and bathed him myself!  Once groomed, we came home and he felt soooo much better! Ace is a big cuddler and kisser with his peeps, once he has proven he likes you.  Recently, we have learned that he doesn't seem to like other dogs and will lunge with most until he gets to know them.  He is BFFs with Jett, but goes after many of our other rescues.  He has a ton of energy and likes to jump up on you, so we think he’d be best in a home without young kids or seniors, especially with his need for training.  We have found he is partial to female dogs and loves to play but seems to be challenged by male dogs.  He does not like being left alone, so he might be best with a female -- perhaps a bit bigger than he is -- one who is submissive and won't challenge him.  OR as your companion where he is rarely left alone.  We know nobody is home 24/7!  He's fine with some dogs (unless he's in a mood), but when you are around he doesn’t like them usurping his glory!  He wants all your love!!   He'd be happy as your one and only if you have time to give him oodles and oodles of love and attention.   This boy is a great eater and isn't fussy.  He is very playful with his two female roomies and with his foster mom.  He is pretty quiet, even when left alone he settles down.  Ace would be a fantastic companion for a runner, hiker, active person who loves to enjoy the outdoors.  He walks extremely well on a leash and does his business shortly after the walk begins!  That being said, if he can't get out and has to go...he will use a pp pad.  So far, we haven't seen him lift his leg, but no guarantees at your house!  While he isn't a lap dog, he would love nothing better to cuddle up to you when the day is done and fall asleep in your arms!  Does ACE sound like your kind of guy? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION THIS IS ROCKO…and rock’n’roll Rocky is a superstar!! This gorgeous, 17 lb, 2-3 yr old, tan/white Lhasa Apso is the real deal! Unfortunately, in the past he has landed in the wrong place and hasn’t yet found a family that had the time or appreciation to get this wonderful boy training or give him the attention he needs. He is still a puppy in an adult body! And STILL he is very loving, kissy, playful and happy! Rocko is a bit on the wild side — but nothing that some patience, time, training won’t solve. When you are walking him, he likes to run circles around you but we are working on “walk straight” and he responds. He is very smart and wants to please. He is not a biter; he is not aggressive with other dogs or a guarder. He is very demonstrative in showing you he wants to go for a run…or a hike. He ain’t no couch potato…until he has had a busy day playing, going to the park, going on walks and you tire him out. He wants to explore the world, meet and greet anyone on the street and say hello! The best home for Rocko would be one where there is a yard, so that he can exercise and play with you! Kids over 8 yrs old to play with him and a canine companion! His vocal manners are pretty good — we have not heard him bark, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t! AND if you take him out on a regular basis, he is pretty good doing his business outside and will use a pp pad if necessary! But, no guarantees at your house! Does Rocko sound like a pup you could “rock’n’roll with? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION INTRODUCING MS. HALLIE….a petite, 8 lb, cream colored, 3-4 yr old mix, probably Maltese and Pomeranian? She hails from the Orange County Shelter — who id’d her as a Lhasa Apso, which she definitely is not! No matter what breed you think she is…it’s 100% adorable and portable! Hallie would be very happy running errands, going shopping, keeping you company on road trips…or just sitting with you while you work! We have no idea what her past was like, other than being a baby maker 🙁 She hasn’t had a lot of “walking on the leash” experience, but she will reluctantly stroll with you. She prefers doing her business outside in the yard (so she should have one!) She is a bit finicky about her food, but that’s because she want’s to keep her girly figure!! Our estimation is she was either extremely coddled or ignored….more than likely, making babies and then ignored and finally taken to the shelter 🙁 The shelter shaved her back area because of flea allergy dermatitis, but hair grows back and it is no longer bothering her because she doesn’t have anymore fleas!!!! It has taken Hallie a bit to break out of her shell…and she is a total sweetheart. She is just starting to invite play with her human, and bows to show her willingness to fun around! She has good energy and we think that she would be happy with or without another dog, but with people in the home. Gentle kids would be okay, but a chaotic atmosphere will probably be too much for her at first. She does love to snuggle with you on the couch 🙂 and is certainly small enough to make room for her in bed! One step at a time!! Hallie needs love and patience, like so many of the other rescue pups — and what you get ultimately is a best friend, who gives you kisses to tell you “thank you for loving me.” Happily, she does not suffer from separation anxiety, but is very easy to take along with you! A pocket pooch she is! It might take a little time for Hallie to get used to her new surroundings but once she does, she is all yours! Does Hallie sound like a precious pup you could love forever!!?? She’s waiting. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Adopting a Löwchen

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Löwchen - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

The easiest way to adopt a Löwchen is through a rescue that specializes in Löwchen. A great place to start is by creating a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Löwchen in your area.

You can adopt a Löwchen at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Löwchen is around $200 to $600, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption and often includes vaccines, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. In contrast, buying a Löwchen from a breeder can be prohibitively expensive. A Löwchen puppy usually costs anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000.

Löwchen fun facts

Fun Facts:

Löwchen means "little lion" in German.

The Löwchen is one of (if not the most) the rarest dog breeds in the world.

In the Renaissance and beyond, when battle took a knight's life, he would be buried with an illustration of a lion who would accompany him into his next life. However, if he died of natural causes, he was buried with an illustration of a Löwchen.
