Story
Hi! My name is SKY and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Maltese mix Age: 2 years Gender: Male Weight: 13 lbs (6 kg)  Height: 25 cm (paws to shoulders) Length: 47 cm (head to butt) Chest Circumference: 41 cm Neck Circumference: 27 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - Me, my doggy siblings, and my mama (Bea) were abandoned when our parents got divorced. Despite having lived in a home, my family was very dirty, thin, and neglected when we were rescued. Here is a video of me, my siblings, and our mum when we first arrived at the shelter. Luckily, the kind hoomans at the shelter cleaned us, had us assessed by a trusted vet, and gave us proper food. We are now back in excellent health and are ready to start over!  my "siblings" are Obi & Chewy (bonded pair, not my biological bros) and Luke (biological bro). We were rescued along with my biological mom (Bea). TEMPERAMENT - I am a calm, independent boy who will easily win your heart! I absolutely love humans and other dogs- my current routine here is to sleep in late, greet the humans (and promptly receive affection, hehe), get some cuddles and then play! I am a happy, playful boy who loves to play with dogs of all ages. I also like playing with my ball at the park.  I love mealtime and don't show any resource guarding when I eat around the other dogs. I love eating croquettes, chicken, carrots, and tortillas. When nighttime comes around, I like to sleep with my brother Luke. We also share our bed with a 10 year old doggy... one big cuddle puddle! Despite my neglect-filled start to life, I have maintained my puppy innocence and hope to find a loving home and a family that will never abandon me again. ENERGY LEVEL - Medium/Low - I have bouts of playfullness but I also really love to just chill, snooze, or cuddle! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown.  Dogs –  Yes. I play with dogs of all sizes at the shelter and show no resource guarding tendencies. I love hanging at the park with my other doggy friends (video, video 2) Cats – Unknown.  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Pretty good! I am sometimes a bit hesitant on leash and need some coaxing, but I'm sure I'll get more confident with time! As with most young dogs, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here is are some videos of me on leash (video, video 2). House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm, Brucellosis, Parvo, and Distemper before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2000518##

Story
Fifi is a senior lady looking for a warm, safe place to call her own. She's all about enjoying her golden years with a human to love her, another doggo to snuggle and play with, and a tree to snooze under (ideally)!.🍁 Fifi is a 10-year-old Maltese cross, weighing 17 pounds and enjoys the nicknames Daisy and Daisy May! She has had great interactions with a variety of smaller dogs, but has not been tested with big dogs. 🦴Fifi is a cautious pooch who will take some time to feel confident in new surroundings. Using a treat and calm manners can help coax her into new rooms and places. She loves to be outside (if it is not raining), and while she's a low-energy pooch, she loves a few figure-eight zoomies each day in the backyard. You'd be surprised by the speed of this cutie! 🌪️ 🌲After all the running, a snooze under the shade of a tree is the perfect spot. A dog bed or blankie inside is ok too! Fifi doesn't mind her harness, but has not been tested properly on walks yet. She is a flight risk, so needs to be leashed or in a properly fenced yard. 🚪 She loves food! And will "sit" like a pro! But, eats far too fast and may require a slow feeder bowl. 🤫Fifi would thrive in a calmer home as she doesn't like raised voices and startles easy. This lady is house trained well, and knows where to do her business, but may have the odd oopsie while she adjusts.🚽 Fifi has not been tested with kids, cats or other small animals.

Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience.  Teeheehee. Hi, my name is Geena (Tina) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Maltese mixAge: 7 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 4 kgHeight: 20 cmHighlight(s): kind-hearted, calm, mostly blind, cuddly Ok, I have a super sniffer. I have to in order to get around well. Just a middle aged pupper looking for her second half home.Found  by my rescuer in a park in the Middle East without an owner, she tried to find my family, but nobody came forward. Likely dumped there, as often happens in my country when people tire of having a dog. I know, so sad. They may have abandoned me, because I am no longer a spry, playful puppy. This is due to the fact one of my eyes is pretty well blind and the other has poor vision. I have cataracts. No worries, I still get around just fine. Please no interior decorators rearranging furniture all the time. LOL. I currently live with a foster, but she can't hold me long, as the Landlord doesn't want any dogs there. Again, typical my country. Double sad.I'm a kind-hearted dog, who just wants to light up your life with happiness. You know dynamite in a small package. Only the explosion you'll get is pure love. I'll stay close, keeping you warm. I generally do my business on pee pads, though occasionally make a mistake. I'm sure once we get a routine of going putside, it will be much better. In my country it is also illegal to walk dogs outside. TRIPLE sad, right?I'd prefer a home where my person is home most of the time, as I do fine for about 2 hours, then start to bark. Hey, I don't know where you are after a while. I enjoy sleeping next to you and snuggling though. Energy Level: lowI get along with:Dogs: yes, no, unknownCats: yes, no, unknownKids: yes, no, unknown Fears: if any known, explain or unknown/none observed. Health notes: I have vision problems, cataracts. Can't really see with 1 and only see poorly in other.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1970050##

Story
Hello, my name is Dennie (Benny) and I'm so happy you have clicked on my bio!  I was born in February 2022 and lived with a human who ended up abusing me.  At 7 months old I was found by neighbours, paralyzed and with 2 broken bones.  Luckily they took me away from that bad situation and brought me to a local shelter where I was seen by a vet.  Because of my condition the vet almost euthanized me-- that's when a sweet lady saw the love and hope in my big brown eyes and fought for my life!  After a full 3 month recovery, I now live with plates in my leg.  Still agile and active I am absolutely able to trot around and play with the other dogs at the shelter!   https://youtube.com/shorts/Kr2IwLcW_xU?si=_SnfdVeuQLtTjo2S You'll find I am a serene and sweet pupper. I am fluffy, soft, and adore cuddles on a loving lap.  I get along well with the other shelter dogs and am not aggressive.  Some big dogs frighten me, so I would love your help keeping me safe and protected.  Typically the only times I bark are when I feel threatened by bigger dogs.   I am quite happy now: https://youtu.be/6-BV7gcj_cY and just know the right new owner will adopt me soon. My ideal match would be someone who is patient, calm and, kind-- just like me! Someone who talks kind to me, lets me cuddle in their lap, protects me from bigger dogs, understands my sense of adventure and my love for toys! I’m only 2 after all, so I am still into toys and I am pretty curious, since exploring is how I learn best!I am eager to follow commands and learn new things. I just wish I had my house training under control. I am hoping I can get it right, but right now the vet is not certain if the damage to my spine is permanent or temporary and only time will tell. So I still have some #2 accidents. Being in a shelter makes it hard for the staff to know how much I have improved, so my adopter should be prepared for diapers, just in case. With luck though, some acupunture or laser treatment will help too. I was in a crate for a very long time and now I just want a loving lap and a fresh start with someone I can be my loving self with. I hope you are my match! I'm in love with attention from kids too and showering my affections on them, as well: https://youtu.be/S0XuZYp3eTQ,  https://youtu.be/m4g4KYjxUS0.  Energy Level: moderate to moderate lowI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yes, searching for videoKids: yes Fears: just big dogs right now.
