Ant is a 7 year old Maltichon.  He came to us from a back yard breeder where he was living outside in a kennel with several other dogs.  Ant tested positive for heartworms and is currently going through his treatment.  He will be ready for adoption towards the end of September.  We would like to have a home ready for him by then.  Ant has been good with the other dogs, volunteers and children.   We are unsure about cats (he is only 8lbs though).  Ant is doing very well with his potty training too.  Please help us find a home for him when he is ready (towards the end of September). Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. ALL Pre-Adopt must be filled out FIRST and  COMPLEATLY to be considered.  ****  Any Incomplete Pre-Adopts will not be considered,  We are Volunteers and our time is very important to us also and we cannot waist it on  incomplete adoption applications.  Please be respectful and sensitive to our time we give to these animals and our mission to save lives. Adoption fees, homechecks, and references are required. ALL of us  at RCHS work very hard to save these precious lives, and our only pay we get as volunteers, is a GOOD HOME LIFE for them, we all are volunteers, so please be patient and considerate of our time and responses. Blanche Maltese 5yo/ DOB 04/22/19 Approx 10lbs Spayed/Microchipped UTD on vaccinations Current on flea & heartworm prevention Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered/contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive there for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications & FAQ about our adoption process can be found on our website. Blanche is a low key, quiet little girl. Until now, she has spent her time raising puppies for other families. Now, she has the chance to find her family & to be loved for the rest of her life. She has had very little human interaction, so humans are unfamiliar to her. She is very brave, and will smell your hand & take treats from you. She just needs some time to get used to movement & home noises. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings so we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, like in & out the door for potties. Going from room to room & different activities. Blanche is not yet ready to be a lap dog, and she isn't a dog that you can just pick up. She will need time to establish trust & relationships with her family. She is still not accepting of the harness and leash. Therefore, for her safety, a secure physically enclosed area is a must. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a yard that she can run around in. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. If you are looking for a quiet friend, Blanche would love to hang out with you! We hope to find her a human friend that is interested in spending the day with Blanche watching & observing the wonderful world around her. She is a dog that is finally getting her chance to lounge around & be a dog!
