Story
No PF profile or picturesTofu is a 10 year old Maltese that was recently returned to GCSPCA after being adopted at 2 years old, due to allergies that his former owner could no longer manage. Right now, he is receiving daily eye drops, twice weekly medicated baths, and ear drops for an ear infection. At his age, his eyesight isn’t the best, but he can see well enough to navigate your home and yard. He is also eating prescription food and is doing well with this routine.  Tofu is a happy little guy at 8 lbs and after he settles in, he becomes quite playful and seeks attention. He loves to be pet and brushed.  He may need to be on a prescription diet for the rest of his life, but don’t let that deter you. Tofu is the perfect dog for someone seeking a quiet lap and couch buddy. He is crate trained, working on house training, and good with other dogs and people. His foster believes cats wouldn’t be a problem either.  If you’re looking to provide a loving forever home for a dog in his golden years, please consider Tofu. If you are interested in adopting Tofu please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***  January 1, 2025, 12:35 pm

Story
I adopted Lady from a humane society in Northern Michigan. She had been a stray in Detroit for an undetermined amount of time. Her age is guessed to be between 8 and 10 years of age, and my vet said she probably had a couple of pregnancies at some point. She is spayed now. She is sweet and loving with her people. Very much a cuddler. She is slow to warm up to strangers. She has improved a lot since I have had her. She will sniff a new person, but she doesn't react well if a stranger reaches for her. She doesn't love other dogs while on a leash. Lady is a nervous girl and suffers from PTSD. She needs a calm, low key spot with someone who will be around a lot. Small children would be difficult for her.

Story
Meet Milo!!!  This special boy is a 4 1/2 year old, 11 lbs maltipoo.  He is the complete package.  This sweet boy is good with other dogs both big and small.  He is also good with cats.  Milo is an active little guy that has the best time running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  They all have the best time in their fenced in yard.  Milo really enjoys playing but he is also all about the most important thing--YOU!  Milo loves his foster mom.  If she sits down he is right there.  If she goes to the kitchen Milo is right behind her to see if he can help.  At bed time, you got it, trotting down the hall with you.  This great guy would be an excellent companion for a young single person or a great addition to a family with children 6 and older.  (to our knowledge he has not been around toddlers and we don't want to set him up for failure.)  Milo is so small that he could go everywhere with you that doggies are allowed even in the airplane on vacation!  This boy does not want to be left behind.  Milo is ready for a late new year celebration when he meets his forever family.  Hopefully that will be with you.  To be considered for Milo's frever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcaast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Milo is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)January 6, 2025, 2:04 pm

Story
Molly came to us from another rescue in the area. They had rescued a lot of purebred dogs from out west who were used for breeding and asked if we`d take two. Molly was bred and had a terrible life before but now enjoys life to the fullest! She loves doing zoomies in her fosters yard and loves all the other dogs. Her tongue hangs out a bit due to all the extractions she had to have. She does spin sometimes, a lingering affect of living in a cage much of her life and feeling anxious. She is fostered in an all adult home, with dogs and cats. Molly is 8 and weighs 9.8 lb. She loves to be where you are! Looking for a close companion and willing to be patient as she adjusts, then Molly may be the girl for you. Spay, vaccines, microchip provided.

Story
Sparky is a chill older gentleman that loves naps. He is pee pad trained. I am rehoming him because he’s not to fond of my cats. He barks at them and they seem to make him nervous so he’s always on guard, I would love for him to have he a home where he could fully relax and enjoy the entire home.
