Story
I was only looking for 1 dog. When I expressed interest in her brother (the only one posted for rehoming), the owner mentioned she was bonded. They were supposed to be bell trained to go outside, no aggression except for barking at strangers that come to the house, and good with cats. My 2 sons (7 and 11) and I won them over outside their house, at 8:30pm, with a couple milk bones and within 15mins drove 3 hours home with them. No signs of aggression. Within a week, both of my sitters quit after 1st meetings as they showed reactivity towards them. I sent them to a boarded training program for 8 weeks which was a huge mistake. They have been back for 2 weeks and their behavior is not any better and now they have major potty training regression. I can’t afford the in home training for both that they need. We already love her; she is such a snuggle bug, but it’s too much for a single mom that works full time. They both are significantly better behaved 1 on 1.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application ›   Cashew is a loving and energetic dog who has quickly adapted to home life. At around 1-2 years old, he's crate trained and excellent on the leash, making walks a joy. He's a great travel buddy too, enjoying car rides without any fuss. Cashew is very good about doing his business outside promptly. He shows no signs of food aggression, even with high-value treats, and he's gentle and affectionate with people, adoring the company of other dogs. While he hasn't been around cats much and can get stressed around young children, Cashew's neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He's a playful soul, sometimes not realizing his size during roughhousing, but he's learning quickly. Overall, Cashew is a calm, gentle giant who adores cuddling and craves closeness with his humans. He's been an amazing companion over the past few weeks and would thrive in a home with plenty of space to explore and play."Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 21, 2025, 12:26 pm

Story
Who doesn’t love a gentle giant? Meet Marston- the biggest and goodest boy around! Marston is a 97-pound adult mastiff mix. He has a striking brindled coat, blending deep charcoal and rich caramel colors, and the sweetest brown “puppy dog” eyes. Marston is a big guy- he is strong and needs a fur-ever person who can keep up. That said, Marston is also a sweetheart and a shoo-in for the 2025 Mr. Congeniality contest. When he is out with the other pups Marston is the peacekeeper of the group and often makes gentle, appropriate corrections to his peers to remind them to play nicely and follow the rules. There is something so charming about walking by a tall fence and seeing sweet Marston’s head pop up- this guy’s size paired with his dazzling personality is truly a delight. If you have the strength and space to care for a big pup, send in your adoption request today. Marston will be so happy to meet you and we’re warning you that you will be instantly smitten!!

Story
Hi! My name is Rocco, and I am new here at HSEC! Staff and my fosters say I am one of the sweetest, big, goofy guys you have ever met. I am still showing off my gentle personality! Stay tuned to learn more about me! Rocco has tested positive for heartworms. HSEC gives heartworm-positive dogs a course of antibiotics. They then receive monthly heartworm prevention, as any dog should. We recommend speaking to your veterinarian before adopting a heartworm-positive dog. Interested in adopting Rocco?
