Story
🐩 Hello, I’m Gabi, the 4-year-old white Poodle with a gentle soul and a heart that’s ready to love. 🌸 🏥 Rescue Story & Journey: I come from a place where I wasn’t given the care I deserved, but I’ve been rescued and I’m learning to trust again. On March 9, 2024, I had surgery to amputate my right hind leg, but don’t worry, I’m hopping along just fine now! 🦴❤️ 🌈 Personality: I’m a bit of a wallflower, taking my time to bloom around new friends. Give me about a week, and I’ll show you the warmth of my affection. 🌟 🐾 Likes: • Peaceful strolls and feeling the grass under my paws (well, three of them!) 🌿 • Quiet time after a little adventure outside 🏞️ • Being around my doggy friends who give me confidence 🐕‍🦺 🏡 Home Life: I’m a lady of grace, preferring to do my business outside and staying serene in my kennel. 🚫 A Little Note: I’m still learning to walk on a leash and might be wary at first, but patience is key. I’m not quite ready to play with little humans yet, as they’re new to me. 🔊 One More Thing: I might give a little bark at strangers – it’s just my way of saying “hello” from a distance. 💖 Looking for: A family that understands my need for a gentle introduction to love and life. If you have a soft spot for a three-legged friend with a big heart, I’m the one for you! Let’s take our time getting to know each other and build a bond that’s as strong as my spirit. 🐩💕 Tail wags and puppy kisses, Gabi 🐾💌

(BONDED WITH LIXIA)My name is XIAOMAN and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle/Tibetan Terrier mixAge: 4 yrsGender: maleWeight: 15 lbsHeight: 16 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): Affectionate, lively, clingy, curious, obedient I'm a curious little guy with a lively bounce in my step. My name means grain buds? Cute hunh? It is a Chinese term used during Summertime.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and my pal Lixia developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and Lixia underwent surgery for his eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. My most recent vet visit, May 12, 2024, confirmed my good health. My dental health is generally good with a pending detailed exam upcoming.I tend toward the affectionate, but can be a little clingy. I'm an obedient little boy, who will happily take cues on what you want. Now that I've been getting socialized, I have improved significantly on my housetraining skills. My friend Lixia and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats. https://youtube.com/shorts/KaalVHakIdY Energy Level: moderate-highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: leash and working on house mannersLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: in progress. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:My vaccination series will be complete in a several weeks. I will soon be neutered, though not yet microchipped. Our adoption fee together is $1500.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes our transportation to Canada, if we are able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2081368##

Story
Fluffy is a year old owner surrender. Her owner passed away, the daughter took her in but was told by her landlord she couldn't keep the dog so that is where we jumped in and took her into our care. She was surrendered in California. She's in a foster home in Coquitlam now with another dog and she is doing well there. We don't know what her breed is but we think either a poodle mix or maybe a Maltese mix? not 100% sure. She's ready for a forever home though! Applications to adopt are on our website. www.ihelpedsave.ca

Story
Meet Qq 🫶 Qq was rescued from an illicit breeding farm in Goyang. She must have spent a long time in that environment where she had to stand with her toes spread wide to resist her feet from sliding into the floating cage and where all of feces, hairs, and dust were piled up beneath the floating cage, and the ammonia stench burned in her eyes. Qq's life is just now getting to normal, and is expected to be happier and healthier soon! * Toward People: Loves people! She is an adorable dog who wags her tail and pushes her head against people to indicate that she wants to be touched more. * Toward Dogs: Got along nicely with other dogs who shared the floating cage. Other from that, she didn't directly meet any other dog companions. * Potty Training: Training is required for indoor potty. Special Note * Tooth scaling is required due to extensive tooth loss and tartar.

Story
Good day, my name is Layla and here's a bit about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 11 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 4 kgHeight: 38 cm I'm shy, but very loving. My mom was lost and trying to cross a highway in Mexico one evening and was hit by a car. She lay unconscious in the road, but luckily my foster dad was walking along the highway and ran out quickly to stop the oncoming traffic before she got run over again. She only suffered a few scrapes and bruises, but was covered in fleas and was a bag of bones. She was someone’s pet, but must have gotten lost and was living on the streets for a while. She recovered and gained weight… maybe a little too much weight. My mom was actually pregnant with me and my 3 siblings. I was born secretly during the night. I grew up with my brothers and my foster’s dad other rescue dog and cat.So having a home with another dog to keep me company is important. My brother and I are truly hoping to be adopted together.I love belly rubs. I will tap your leg and flip myself around for one. I also love crawling onto your lap and putting my head on your leg. I just love being close to my owners. I usually let my brothers go first. I’m more timid and usually the one in the back. I warm up quickly, if you call my name though.I'm playful and affectionate, but not a licky kind of dog. Please, won't you bring me into your home? Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, likely yesKids: unknown Fears: loud noises and strangers when strolling outside. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: noneLeash skills: no. I don't pull on the leash though.
