Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Snowball (aka Mickey)! This sweet boy is the definition of well-behaved. He came from SPAC, and while I don't have much background on him, I have my suspicions. At first, I thought he was a surrender, but after the groomer cleaned him up, she found several burrs on him, leading me to believe he was likely a stray before finding his way to us. Snowball is a total cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his people. He loves going on walks and will eagerly whine when it’s time to head outside. He’s settling into a routine and has had only one accident in the house, and that was on his first day here. I used a belly band during his first week, but since his grooming session, he’s been accident-free! Of course, I take him out frequently throughout the day, so that helps too. He’s a champ in his kennel. I use a larger wire kennel when I’m away at class or appointments, and at bedtime, he sleeps in a smaller hard-side kennel. Snowball enjoys being around my two cats, although they’re not as thrilled to hang out with him. He does love sitting on their cat trees and gazing out the window, though! He’s a bit of a barker at times—usually when he hears something unfamiliar, like my neighbor working in the yard or when my son talks to me from another room and Snowball doesn’t see him. It’s like he thinks it’s a stranger! But overall, he’s not too vocal. After eight days of being here, I finally heard him bark this weekend with all the activity going on outside. When he’s not being curious or watching the world go by, Snowball loves to relax on the couch, watch TV, and snuggle up close. He’s perfectly content to wander around on his own, but I do keep a gate up to keep him away from the cats’ food and sleeping area. Above all, Snowball is a true people pleaser. He thrives on affection and will happily sit in your lap, begging for head scratches and belly rubs. Snowball will be neutered and fully vetted on 4/8, and after that, we’ll have a better idea of his exact age. One thing’s for sure—he’s ready to find his forever family! Snowball is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sophie, affectionately known as Puddin', is a sweet and loving senior pup who just wants to be by your side. All she craves is affection, and she absolutely loves being around humans—especially when she can curl up in your lap for some pets and cuddles. Sophie has never slept in a crate; she prefers the comfort of being close to her people at all times. Though she’s not a fan of car rides and can be a bit vocal about it, Sophie’s adorable "whining" for attention is more like a charming seal-like sound that’s bound to make you smile. A couple of things to keep in mind: Sophie has arthritis in her back, so she may be a bit wobbly when she first starts moving, but once she’s up and about, she’s ready to enjoy her day. She’ll thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of attention and love. Sophie is a fantastic dog who gets along with everyone—whether human or animal—and she’s sure to bring a lot of joy to any family lucky enough to have her. If you’re looking for a cuddly, affectionate companion who just wants to be close to you, Sophie is the perfect fit! *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Sophie Seal is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
Hi! I’m Sheila, I'm 8 years old and done being a mama! I’m enjoying my new life in Minnesota learning to play and looking forward to retiring on a couch, eating treats, playing with my toys, and snuggling up with my people. I’ve been spending my days dancing around my foster home trying out ALL the toys and ALL the beds, sniffing ALL the smells in the backyard, and taking naps both inside and out. Things I’ve learned I love are attention, treats, attention, toys (especially squeaky ones), attention, breakfast and dinner, attention, and sitting in laps. And did I mention attention? Things I’m figuring out is pottying outside (I know to go outside, but usually go inside once a day just because i want to!), which things/plants are ok to chew (hint- phone charger cords are NOT ok), and sometimes other dogs (I want ALL your attention!) I play tug and chase with the right companion but they need to be ok with me being the boss. Things I’m not a fan of are storms and loud noises, strangers, and the super cold weather. I don’t know or care what cats are- boring! I’m poodly smart with a big personality and would love to learn more games and might benefit from working with a trainer to help me learn to share if I end up living with other dogs. I can get a little jealous and bossy!  I will let you know if it sounds like anyone is coming home so living in a place with shared walls won't work for me as all those noises make me anxious and our neighbors won't like me letting them all know!  I will also answer if I hear other dogs calling me, ignoring them would be rude! I don't really like the leash but love to go outside in my fenced in yard to go potty, so I will definitely need a fence!  Zoomies in the yard or chasing my people are enough exercise for me. What I want most in life is to snuggle my BFF and eat treats. Can you be that BFF? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $350.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, wonderful souls! I'm Peter, your soon-to-be charming companion! I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! I really am a sweet boy who is simply looking for the patience, unconditional love, and security that I SO richly deserve from my own fur-ever family! I really hope that YOU will be my new family because my heart is overflowing with love that I want to share with someone very special! Love, Peter *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Do you want to meet me? I will be at the Eden Prairie Eco Expo on Saturday, April 12th 2:00 pm-4:00 pm in Eden Prairie Center, 8251 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Meet Skippy, the adorable 8-pound senior poodle (or poodle mix) who’s got all the sweet vibes of a happy old man. Skippy’s a total lovebug who just wants to be by your side—whether it’s snuggling on the couch, curling up in your lap, or burrowing under a pile of blankets to make his perfect little nest. He’s all about cuddles, snacks (a soft milkbone after doing his business is a must!), and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Skippy is potty trained and while he loves the comfort of a fenced yard to roam, he is leash trained and also loves the smells of the neighborhood when doing walks.  While he’s a little barker when left alone, he's generally a calm and docile soul who would do best in a home where he’s not left alone too much. Skippy enjoys the company of other dogs (especially those around his size) but could also be happy as a solo dog with enough attention and love. This sweet, tiny guy has a few quirks—his greasy skin and little "old dog" smell, which just means he may need some extra baths—but he’s just as cute as a button and full of love. As he has had more time in rescue and his skin has begun healing a bit, this does seem to be improving.  His vet thinks he’s around 12 or 13, but honestly, he might be even older, which just makes him even more of a little senior gem. Skippy is best suited for a home without too many stairs (he's small and has some old man joints) and would thrive with a family that’s home often and ready to give him the snuggles he deserves. If you're looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who will be your cuddle buddy and give you endless love, Skippy is the perfect match! He’s got a heart full of joy and is just waiting for the right person to spoil him. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, my name is Toto! I am a delightfully happy and energetic adult male Poodle who loves people although, I have not met any kids yet! I also haven’t met any cats but I’m good with other dogs as long as they’re about my size! In fact, I would love to have a companion at my new home who can not only help me learn the ropes, but who can keep up with me and my rough play. Hee, hee! That is, of course unless my new family is active and regularly helps me release some of my pent-up energy…if that’s the case, I think I’d be ok as your one-and-only especially because I’d get to hoard all the affection! Ha, ha!! I’m a smart guy who knows commands like “outside”, and “go potty” and I look forward to learning more fun things. I should probably mention that I don’t like the kennel/crate, and I do not hesitate to voice my discontent! Potty training is a work in progress, and I need to go outside often but having said that, I do know how to use a potty pad in the house. As for the leash, let’s just say that I like to pull foster mom around the neighborhood! LOL!! In addition to spending time with my people, my favorite activities include barking at strangers outside; running like the wind in a fenced yard; playing with my squeaky toys; and of course, eating food and treats, which comes in handy when it’s training time. I’m just sayin’! Anyway, I am a little lover who is simply looking for YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. If you’re looking for a bundle of love who enjoys a good snuggle session than you need not look any further…I’m your guy! I hope we get to meet soon because I am SO eager to start the next chapter of my life.
