Story
** Current Location: in a private shelter in South Korea ** • Rescue Story : Meet Donnie👋 This sweet boy's journey began in South Korea, where he was found wandering the streets at four years old in August 2024. He ended up in a high-risk city shelter, but luckily, he was rescued just in time! Since then, he's been living in a private shelter with lots of other dogs, patiently waiting for a family to call his own. • Personality: Active, Friendly, Affectionate Donnie is a super star who gets along with all kinds of people including new faces and men! Once he's outside, his playful spirit shines! He is looking for an active family that can offer him ample outdoor activities and adventures as he is highly energetic. Also, he’s a quick learner and adapts well to new environments. • Affinity with -Cats: Not tested -Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs! -Adults/Kids: Great with both! • Shedding: 1-2 (1-10 scale) • Food Allergies: None! • Walking Manners: In training! He can be quite excitable on walks but will improve with more experience. • Housetraining: Housebroken indoors (pee pads) and outdoors, but will need some adjustment in a new home. • Baths/Brushing: Tolerates both well like a champ! • Car Rides: Good with car rides! • Separation Anxiety: None at the current shelter! He stays calm when left in a kennel. • Barking/Howling: Occasionally barks when playing or if started by sudden movements of strangers. • Likes & Dislikes: Loves getting pets, affection, and running around! Donnie is ready to find his forever home—could it be with you? 😊🐾

Story
Lola is a 2-year-old, 15-20 pound female poodle/terrier mix from Tijuana! She has adjusted very well during her time with her foster family in NYC. Lola enjoys going for walks, meeting dogs and people, and getting lots of love and affection. She is doing well understanding “sit” and is making a lot of progress with her house training. She used pee pads the first couple of days, but with regimented walks, she is making progress with going potty only outside.  Lola is still working on her leash skills—she gets excited when she sees other dogs (and pigeons!) and is working on not pulling. Lola is a curious, energetic, sweet and loving pup. Her forever family will need to continue working with Lola to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. Lola has a bit of separation anxiety when left in her crate, but will settle down after a bit. She will thrive in a forever family that will continue to help her build confident and feel safe and secure while on her own. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her lambchop toy. Lola would do well with a medium active family to keep her busy. She loves being outside, playing and exploring, and then enjoying downtime and a big nap afterwards. She would be good as a solo dog or with another dog, since she loves being playful. Lola has never lived with children before so we would recommend Lola go to a home with older or respectful dog savvy children. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Lola, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2333044##

Story
ANGEL - Poodle, 1.5 years, 18lbs, Neutered  Their Foster Parent Says: "Angel is adjusting well!! He had a couple potty accidents the first couple days, but otherwise hasn't relieved himself in the apartment since. He loves following us around and cuddling next to us on the couch or on the kitchen mat. He is learning how to play with his toys, but generally is food-driven. He has learned how to auto-sit, especially when we're holding food or treats, and also is a quick learner and knows which rooms he cannot access. We walk him 3-4 times a day, and he tends to poop on the first and last walk of the day. He is still getting used to the snow, but he started to hop around and play after a couple times out. He's calm and friendly with other dogs and also very curious around the apartment, trying to explore every corner. He'll be shy around new people but will warm up to them quickly. The biggest challenge is the separation anxiety. Whenever we leave him alone, he will cry or whine. He has been scratching at the door whenever we come back. We have a playpen for him and he would cry whenever we aren't in his line of sight. He is our shadow around the apartment; when we get up from the couch he'll follow us around." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy levelMEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Cuddle Bug LevelHigh -- Is always on our heel and loves to cuddle up on the couchPotty TrainedYes -- Few or no accidents (accidents the first couple of days but no accidents since)Comfy with strangers?Sort of -- Shy when meeting new people but warms up quicklyGood with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision)Yes for all ages -- very gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy Good with Other Dogs?Yes -- Mostly uninterested; prefers humansGood with Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.)Yes-- mostly uninterested Mouthy Behavior?Low – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff -- only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones. Leash Manners?Getting the Hang of it – Walks ahead occasionally and pulls but corrects himselfOkay in the city?Yes -- Unfazed by any loud noisesJumping on People to Say Hi?Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction. Separation Anxiety?(Please be sure to leave your foster dog home alone every single day for at least 20 minutes.) Higher – He is ok alone for about 5 minutes, and then starts crying or scratching at the doorCrate training? Not at all – We have a playpen and he goes in his pen to eat/nap/sleep on his own. Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs on to their new adopting families leaving in April 4th 2025 from Southern California where we are located to the East Coast. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Biscuit to our trip for the right home 💕 As always, for peace of mind for our adopting families we never ask for ANYTHING up front. Adoption fee/travel costs are always due when we arrive in person with Biscuit in hand ❤️ Meet Biscuit 💙 He turned 1 year of age on 3/5/25. He weighs right at the 10 lb mark. Yes, he is full grown and at a healthy weight. He is set to be neutered on 3/21/25. He will also be current on vaccines, microchipped, have a thourel exam with our vet who will clear him prior to being available for adoption. He is a total sweetie pie!!! He loves to be snuggled, and melts at any chance to be right under your arm, with his paw in your hand. He is the ultimate cuddler, and will never turn down a good cuddle session 💙💙💙 He is amazing with dogs and LOVES cats too. He grew up with 3 cats that he adored. He is a friend to literally any animal that will let him be 😊 He is very playful with other dogs, but very calm with cats. He feeds off energy, and respects boundaries very well. He adjusts to what his friends are like. He is beautifully natured, and while he really loves the company of other animals, his attention is equally given and spent with those he loves outside of them so if he becomes the only pet in his next home I'm certain he would be just fine with that ❤️ He is not a barker, but will definitely let any unfamiliar sound know he is there. He does listen well. and will let you take over in any situation. He has been very easy to train, and work with as his attentiveness to his person is undeniably strong. He wants to please you, and being a good boy is what he does best ☺️ He has great house manners, so having him in your home won't be stressful as he will lounge near you while you tend to other things around the home playing with a favorite toy, chewing on a favorite bone, or simply taking a nap. He loves watching tv, so if you have a good show you have been dying to watch and didn't want to watch it alone, well look no further because Biscuit will be that guy!! And while he won't bring the snacks he sure will help you eat them and will promise to never talk through your favorite part 🙃 He is amazing on road trips and really loves the center console dog booster seats because it means he gets to keep one paw on you during the whole trip 😉 He loves leash time as well and loves to take walks around the neighborhood, or to sit at your favorite coffee shop especially if they have biscuits waiting for him 🙃 He is house trained, and does really well going outside to use the restroom when asked to. We take him out every 3-4 hours throughout the day and never have accidents in between. If he needs to go out sooner than we ask him, he will give us a few barks to let us know. He is communicative when he needs something so picking up on his cues will be important in his continued training moving forward. He doesn't make it hard to please him, I assure you that!! He is as easy as they come, and is happy that he has someone to talk to that will make sure his needs and occasional wants are met ❤️❤️ He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate at night. He sleeps very peacefully throughout the whole night. He could definitely transition to a dog bed aside yours at night or in bed with you if that's what you want, as he is very adaptable to change and would love being closer to you anyway he can 💕 His prior owner was a single mom taking care of a newborn. When she separated from her partner the weight of her new life fell hard on her shoulders leaving her having to move back home with her parents until she was able to get back on her feet. She knew it wasn't fair to keep her sweet boy in such an unstable time in her life, especially with the loss of support she had in caring for him so she reached out to us to take him in and find him the home he deserved to have. As of now his adoption fee is on our website at the very bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/biscuit It will cover his neuter, vaccines, microchip/registration, and his exam with our vet. If additional vetting is needed such as a dental cleaning then his fee will be adjusted to help offset those extra costs. As always his adoption fee also goes back into the care involved in the time he has been with us, his grooming costs, and his training.

Adoption fee/travel costs are always due when we arrive in person with Zack in hand ❤️ Meet Zack! He turned 1 year of age on 3/3/25. He is a Maltese/poodle mix. He weighs 11.64 lbs. Yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight. He definitely has more of the Maltese coat in look and texture. Yes, he is hypoallergenic so you won't have to worry about him shedding. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, had a thourel exam with our vet, and has officially been cleared to find a home all his own. He is house trained, and will go outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day when asked to. If he doesn't need to go outside, he simply will stay back. He gets asked to go potty every 3 hours or so, and with that schedule he rarely asks to be let out in between but when he does he will sit by the door patiently for you to open it for him. He is not fond of the crate. We have attempted to condition him to it and while he isn't destructive in one, he just does not like being confined and will cry. He will gladly lay on a dog bed behind a gate that would section off a smaller area as it's a more open feel and he doesn't mind that one bit! He is also amazing in the house, so he doesn't need to be confined if you ask me. He currently sleeps on a dog bed under our bed 😂 he loves to be cozy in his little cave under there. I just believe he has learned that it's cooler and the morning sun doesn't get him under there! He is leash trained, and really loved his walks! He is naturally social and really enjoys strolling around especially if he gets to greet friendly neighbors walking their dogs 💕 He is not a barker and is rather quiet. He makes a great friend, especially to a home where you are missing the love of a little companion. He is not needy by any means, and knows your day can get busy so he will find a bed to snooze on near by while you tend to other things. Trust me that he will always be ready for you once you are able to focus back on him! His little eyes light up, and you can feel the joy radiating from him knowing he is about to get some much needed daytime snuggles ☺️ He is amazing with other dogs, and cats alike! He would make anyone's home more complete, and lives happier than they have ever been so if you are wanting the love of a special friend, choose Zack!!! He is amazing on road trips of any length, and loves days spent getting all dolled up with his groomer!!! He is just an absolute wonderful boy looking for a home all his own so if that's you please contact us today 🌸 His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_zack It covers all of his vet care. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and had two ear infections that had to be treated while with us that required having the hair plucked out of both ears, an antibiotic injection, an allergy injection, and antibiotics to go home that was applied to both ears. It also covers the care involved in the time he has been with us, his grooming costs, and his training we have personally done with him!
