Polar is up to date on vaccines for his age. Polar is too young to be neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him within 9 months at your cost and provide evidence of neuter. Polar's mom is a beautiful red miniature poodle weighing about 25 pounds. His dad is a many of mystery, but based on the growth trajectory of these puppies was either a small standard or a large moyen. Our best estimate is that Polar is a moyen poodle. Weight: 14 lbs and growing - based on his current weight, he is estimated between 35-45 lbs when full grown Height: 12 inches and growing - based on his current height, he is estimated between 14-18 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Polar requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Polar is a very young dog looking for an experienced owner with the time required to properly raise and socialize a puppy. He requires a home with another young, active dog in the home for play and socialization. He requires a home that can offer him consistency and routine, and where someone is home more than they are away. Our ideal puppy owners have someone in the home that is home during the day (work from home, stay at home parent, active retiree). Polar has been raised with children over 7 and is good with them. Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!  What is my personality like? Polar is 100% typical puppy, after two hours of playtime, he will snuggle for 30 minutes. He has a lot of love to give and a ton of energy to burn.  For Polar, he will need another dog in the home who would provide companionship and playtime, under supervision.  In his foster home, Polar has large dogs to wrestle . Polar will definitely need a larger fenced yard with room to run, play fetch and for training.  Polar is smart and will need a lots stimulation. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Leo is 1 years old. Is great with children. Needs someone patient to train him. Leo comes with a crate and some toys. Needs a new home by July 19 2024.

Bella is an 8 month old poodle mix. She is very playful and energetic. She loves to play fetch, hide and seek, and tug. She is still mouthy when excited and will nip when she wants attention. This was accidentally reinforced when she was very young, but she is improving. She is also reactive but with excitement. She is not aggressive nor fearful she's just excited about people and dogs. She is getting better at walking past people, but will still pull and lounge towards dogs. She has low impulse control outside, but does well inside. She knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, stay, and leave it. She is great with kids, but because she is still a bit mouthy and will jump on people, little kids may not be ideal. She is a very sweet dog and just needs someone with patience, energy, and time to train her.

Winston is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Winston will be neutered on 7/22/24 and available for adoption after that. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Please note that Winston is a mixed breed boy - we cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he may not shed as he continues to mature. Winston is a young dog who's had little to no structured life experiences. He's looking for a home with the patience and time to allow him to become the best version of himself. Winston's ideal home is one committed to positive reinforcement training for socialization and confidence building. It is a home where he can sleep in the bed with you at night. He could live as the only dog in a home with lots of time and attention, or with another dog in a home where you work outside the home but provide a break. We don't know if Winston has every lived with children. He's generally a gentle boy who would be okay with kids over 8. What is my personality like? Winston was found as a stray roaming the busy streets of North Carolina. He's understandably still a little nervous and figuring things out, but tough days on the street haven't dimmed this boy's general kind demeanor and gentle personality. Winston is living in a foster home with other small dogs. He is happy with his pack and can be found happily running with the crew and learning to play with toys. At night, you will find Winston snuggled up against his foster mom under the covers in bed. He's figured out pretty quickly that life in a home beats life on the streets every day! Jynx is a very sweet 5 yr old doodle, He is housebroken, crate trained, and quiet.Jynx is good with other dogs and kids. Although not required, he would love a doggy friend to play with and a fenced yard to run. Jynx can't wait to meet you and hopefully find his forever home! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member.
