Story
Meet Brandy!  She is a 9 year old, 10 lb Apricot miniature poodle.  She and her sister Becky have spent their lives in the care of a breeder.  Their working days are now over and they are in a wonderful foster home where they are learning to be pets.  Brandy is reserved but not scared.  You can see her sweetness in her little face and eyes.  She is adjusting well to life in a home and gets along well with everyone.  Brandy loves to be outside taking in all the smells and relaxing in the sun.  She quickly learned the doggie door and can go in and out when she needs to.  This is definitely helping with her house manners.  Brandy cuddles with her sister and is starting to enjoy life.  She has a soft bed to lay in and lots of love coming her way.  She just needs a person or couple that will be patient and help her to adjust to all the new things she will be experiencing.  She is learning that riding in the car is not a bad thing and working on walking on a leash.  (That might take a bit.)  With lots of love and attention Brandy will turn into a loyal and loving companion.  Will that be with you.  Brandy has been spayed and is current on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Brandy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
This sweet little 8 1/2 lb girl is called Bonnie and her story is so very sad but happening way too many times these days. She is in a very small town of Tennessee and recently lost her mom and the family wanted nothing to do with her precious little 6-year-old poodle called Bonnie. So, what did they do, but put her outside on a tie out and pay no attention to her. She soon became sunburned, matted and full of fleas. She also developed an extreme sadness and fearful nature as she felt the vulnerability of being tied out on a stake. A good neighbor came to her rescue and took her to a groomer to have her shaved down. The groomer was mortified to see the condition that this precious little girl Poodle was in. She decided to not return her to the neighbor and it was in full agreement that she would take over care of this pitiful little girl. Critter Cavalry quickly took her to their vet and she will also be receiving a dental in the next 5 days. You see h mmer throat was swollen from drainage due to bad teeth, but other than that, she passed all health tests such as heartworm and parasites and worms. She will one day be restored to a beautiful soul inside and out. Today she looks fragile and we know her spirit has been beaten down and challenged. But she will survive because we will find someone to love her unconditionally and treat her like the Princess she's always meant to be. If you would like to adopt this precious girl please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Jack@! Age: approx 10+ years old. Some of his paperwork says 10, 13, and 16. We honestly don't know. He is a senior, he is fairly active for his age and gets around well despite his sight issues. Breed: toy poodle, unknown if mixed. Size: est 7lbs, needs to gain a few pounds. Training: crate and leash trained, working on house training and doing well. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to both. Good with men/women/kids? Yes, he gets along with any and every one he meets. Personality: a little shy initially but once he learns his surroundings, he is very affectionate and friendly. He is mostly blind but gets around very well. Our vet was surprised at how well he navigates a new room. He still has some spunk despite his age. He is curious and loves to sniff around the yard. He is very food motivated. Reason for rescue: seized by animal control, hoarding case. Jack is neutered, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. He is missing most of his teeth so he eats soft food. If you are interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: waived, however it must still be a great match for both Jack & his new family.&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143August 12, 2024, 6:12 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 7/22/2023 Reason for being in rescue: stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Please note that Bentley does not like to be restrained. At a minimum he needs to wear a muzzle for vet visits and grooming appointments. He may require sedation grooming. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Bentley needs a home that won't cage him in - literally and figuratively! Bentley does not like a barrier placed in front of him that will slow or stop his roll. He will tell you what he thinks with barking, lip movement, or a flat-out hissy fit. Figuratively speaking, Bentley knows what he wants and how to get it. If he was a human, he would be able to manipulate any situation to his benefit. Yes, this little man is one smart guy who is at least 2 steps ahead on his daily plans for your life. Bentley needs an owner who can admire, work with his independent nature and clearly show Bentley respect. Bentley is really looking for a human who can give him a sense of security. If he senses a soft human, then the worst of his personality will dominate all day long. What is my personality like? Bentley is the master of ceremonies or he can be a brat. He has the mood swings of a teenager. Mostly he's a happy outgoing little guy. He can be hard-headed and isn't the dog for the faint of heart.  Bentley loves meeting new people and wants nothing more than to be the center of attention. He would love to be the ruler of the household and have things his way. Bentley is good with other dogs, but likes to be a loner at times. He wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the home; he does portray a bit of resource guarding towards other dogs when in his favorite human's lap. Bentley is crate trained, but prefers to sleep on the bed with his humans or in his own bed close by. He doesn’t ask for too much, just a hand (or two, or three) on him at all times. He’s already very spoiled, but wants to be spoiled even more. A home with small children wouldn’t be ideal. Bentley is crate-trained, but we leave the crate door open. When we close the door, Bentley does display his displeasure. He may just snarl his lips or go all the way to rage like the Hulk. Bentley freely puts himself into the crate to rest and feel safe. It's his world when it comes to the crate.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Bentley will rush up and greet you with some barks. If he really likes you, he will show you all of his teeth in a big goofy smile. He will run around and put on a show, then settle down for a couple of pets.  Other tips and tidbits: Bentley was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate hir birthday 7/3/2016. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. August 19, 2024, 4:37 pm
