Story
NAME: Nella BREED: Poodle Mix BIRTHDAY: 2014 WEIGHT: 20lbs ADOPTION FEE: $150 (Nella and Darcy are bonded and must be adopted together!) &#226&#128&#139 Darcy and Nella came to us from a breeder who was closing her doors. She had surrendered her other dogs to different rescues and said she was going to keep Darcy and Nella as her personal pets. Imagine the surprise of the rescuers who helped her when they saw the girls posted on a "free to a good home" site! We were immediately contacted and we happily agreed to take the girls, and thankfully they were able to get to us before being given away to someone who may not have been able to care for them properly (or keep them together). &#226&#128&#139 In foster care, Darcy and Nella have been very sweet and easy. They get along well with dogs of all sizes and are very polite with cats. Nella has had a few accidents but in general they seem house trained, they are happy to take walks or go to new places, and they are friendly with new people after a couple minutes of warming up. Our groomer said they were both very well behaved for their spa day, and now they look as lovely on the outside as they are inside! This is a truly wonderful pair who will be a blessing to their forever family! &#226&#128&#139 *Both girls came to us a little itchy, which could be a result of a poor diet or other external factors. To help them be comfortable, we got a Cytopoint injection for Darcy and are giving Nella Apoquel. Hopefully they will not need medications long term, but it should be something an adopter is prepared for. Please note that these girls are bonded and MUST be adopted together!  February 17, 2025, 6:28 pm

Story
NAME: Poptart BREED: Poodle/Shih Tzu Mix BIRTHDAY: 2024 WEIGHT: 13lbs ADOPTION FEE: $350 &#226&#128&#139 When our friends at Dallas Pets Alive ask us to take a dog, we say YES ! When they asked us to take a little blind puppy, well... sure, things were getting a little quiet around here anyway!  &#226&#128&#139 Surprisingly, Poptart the puppy hasn't gotten the rest of the pack too worked up. He's a little pushy in his playfulness and can overstimulate when left to his own devices (we do NOT hump our friends around here!) However, for such a young fellow he really is well-behaved and well-mannered. He appears to be pad trained, but we're working on big boy house training which is going very well thanks to help from the rest of the pack. Poptart loves to be outside so that's very helpful as well. He gets an A+ for car manners and a B for leash training, but we don't really blame him for being nervous in new places- he is almost completely blind after all! In his safe places (the house and yard), you may not notice right away that Poptart can't see: he is remarkably well-adjusted and gets around without too much trouble. He just needs a little help remembering where the water dish is, and he should absolutely not have unsupervised access to a full staircase until he's 100% comfortable in his new home. &#226&#128&#139 Poptart loves to cuddle and be around his people, but he also wants to play with his dog friends. Since having a "guide" has been so helpful for him, we're looking for a forever home with at least one tolerant canine sibling, and a human to be around more often than not. Cats are not a problem for this sweetheart so no worries either way. Mostly he just needs someone with time and patience so that he can learn his new routine- no more shuffling around for this sweet baby, we are looking for commitment! March 2, 2025, 11:22 am

Story
Charlie is a little guy. Charlie is initially shy but cuddles up nicely. He gets along well with other dogs. He does not shed. His hair is fine and was a little matted on intake. He grooms easily. He would make a good lap dog or family dog with older children. He is fine with little children but they are a little louder for him. He is not a biter or nippy. Please include your phone number when I inquiring about him strayheartsrescue@outlook.com https://forms.gle/suhbpui9RXiVmvoJ9

Story
Brother to Fido and Zac. Surrendered by a breeder, I find myself unsure of people, yet longing to be loved.  I’m Reno, a 1 yr old PURE BREED MINI POODLE Boy, weighing about 20 #, who is uncertain of the outside world. Having lived most of my first year with little human socialization, I’m shy, timid, reserved and skittish to people and situations. ( NOT Aggressive ). On the “FLIP SIDE” I LOVE other dogs, am gentle, good natured and playful! My fear CAN BE CORRECTED with your love, understanding and time. Poodles are known to be very intelligent. I’m no acceptation. Do you know what else is GREAT about us poodles? You guessed it. We are HYPER ALLERGENIC. Although I’m smart, I have no idea what HYPER ALLERGENIC means, but guess it’s a good thing to be! Living in a kennel environment at my rescue, I still have a few things to learn about being a dog, but with your help, I’m sure this won’t take long. Just having consistent care givers I’m already learning to give and take love here. Being VERY DOG FRIENDLY, another dog would be best in my new home, but not required. Sorry, no kids due to my skittishness, for my safety. NO issues with aggression, just safety.  I do require a 4 ft fenced yard due to my fear, shyness just for my safety as well. So, what ya think? Do you want to take a “GAMBLE”, “Roll the Dice”, and “HIT the JACKPOT”! I’m “Betting” RENO won’t last long! To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
Brother to Reno and Fido. Even tempered, playful, eager to please and gentle, but having had little socialization with people, I am also timid, shy and skittish. My name is Zac. Hebrew in origan, Zac means “The Lord has Remembered” or “God’s Gift”! Having been surrendered by a breeder and little socialization, I’m longing for a family to trust. My shyness/skittishness can be corrected with time.  Exposing me slowly to new things, sharing your home, providing positive reinforcement and praise will help me bond to you for life. Then, I will be “God’s Gift” to you. At 1 year old and about 20#, I’m Very dog friendly, only hesitant to people and NEVER Aggressive. Running, playing ball, other dogs or with toys, are all things I’ve learned while in rescue. I’ve shown eagerness to please, an even temperament, and affectionate once I trust your touch. Due to my shyness, a 4 ft fenced in yard will be required to adopt me. Sorry, no kids since I am still fearful of fast motions may cause me to bolt.   Did you know, we poodles athletic, agile, very intelligent and “Hyper Allergenic”? Yes, that’s what I hear. Just look into my deep dark eyes and tell me you don’t see my hope for the future, hope for a family, hope of better things to come. I’m Zac, a little boy yearning to share “The Best of Times”, with YOU! To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org.
