Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This resilient poodle born around 10/2/2017 has been through a lot but is now ready for a loving home. Found on the streets with one of the worst cases of matting we’ve ever seen, his hair was so long it touched the ground. Sadly, neighborhood kids threw rocks at him as he ran through the streets, terrified and alone. It took an experienced trapper to safely bring him to our facility, where he arrived shaking and too scared to be touched by anyone. However, with time, patience, and care, he has blossomed into a wonderful companion. He now enjoys daily walks, loves being pet, gets the excitement zoomies, and gets along well with other dogs. He is a laid-back boy who especially gets excited for his leash time, happily joining other dogs on walks. Due to his past, he will need a home to give him patience to gain his trust. Once he has your trust, he will be your shadow and want nothing but love. He seems to be potty/house trained, as he will wait to use the bathroom when he gets walked. Fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, this sweet poodle is ready to find his forever home. His adoption fee is $300. Marley weighs around 20 pounds.   Could you be the one to give him the love he deserves?  Marley is currently in Texas, but transport is available to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note that an additional transport fee of $225 applies. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Salty Dog was found on the street. He is very scared and still unsure of people. He will need someone with a lot of time and patience to allow him the time and space he needs to start trusting you. Salty Dog will need a secure fenced in yard where he can be safe as he is learning to trust people. He would do best in a quieter home with 2 or fewer dogs so he can get the attention he needs. Would not be good in an apartment. Salty Dog is $400 to adopt, about 18 pounds, and 3 years old. He is located in TX and not available for out of state adoption.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 31, 2025, 5:45 pm

Story
Hello! My name is Pearl. Just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently looking for my new, forever family. I had a family before, but things out of my control happened. I won’t let the past stop me from letting a new family experience the love I can offer. My foster mom says that I am really smart and can learn new things with a little patience. If you are reading this, I should let you know that I am a 4.5yr old mini golden doodle (17lbs). When I was first introduced to my foster family, I was a bit shy of being loved on. With some time now, I am really sold on snuggles and back scratches! I do love playing with my older foster sister Molly (who is also available for adoption). Some other things you might want to know about me are that I currently use a doggy door to go outside to potty. I sleep in a crate at night (although working on sleeping in foster family’s bed).

Story
Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/       This friendly girl is Teacup! Teacup is a 1 year old, low shedding 30 pound dog whose playful, sweet nature wins over everyone she meets. She loves other dogs & has a way of making even the grumpy older dogs in her foster home want to play. She absolutely lives for attention from people and will often come up & put her paw on your knee asking for pets. Her meeting with a neighborhood kitty was entirely uneventful so she would probably do just fine in a home with cats, though she might try to play with them! Teacup’s had a rough start to life. She came from a bad hoarding situation and it quickly became apparent when she came to us that her back legs weren’t able to flex correctly. We took her to our vet & x-rays showed her knees had developed abnormally, and while she has some use of her back legs, it was recommended that she use a wheelchair to reduce wear & tear on her bad knees. So we built her one! She’s doing a great job of learning to use her new wheelchair – we call it the “Tea Cart” and she happily comes over & puts her head through the harness when we ask “do you want to go in your Tea Cart?” We’ve currently working on navigating rocky terrain, slopes, and obstacles with her new wheels and she’s learning fast! She’s quite happy to learn new things when there’s lots of praise & hot dogs as rewards. She gets more comfortable with using her chair every day & she’s not shy about telling you when she’s tired and ready to get out! Teacup is gentle when she plays & has lived with dogs of all sizes in her foster home, but due to her bad knees she needs companions who won’t play too rough with her. Teacup is house trained & requires frequent brushing due to her long, soft, low shedding coat. She should be kept on a joint supplement for life. Her Tea Cart of course comes with her, and her foster will send along the measurements & parts list in case something wears out & needs to be replaced.   You can follow along with Teacup in her foster home on her Facebook page here! https://www.facebook.com/share/1BRvxpjeGy/   Teacup is not hypoallergenic. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more). You must be committed to age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her wheelchair, spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal Plus, IDEXX SNAP 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories. Additional questions may be directed to sagdinfo@gmail.com. ** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX. Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.
