This is a Courtesy Listing and has no affiliation with Petrescue. Please contact the owner listed below directly. Introducing Lorax, a charming 12-pound, 7-year-old Border Terrier mix with an unforgettable personality. Rescued from a local shelter, her past is a mystery, but her future looks bright. Lorax is housebroken when kept on a schedule and lives peacefully with a resident cat. She would flourish in a quieter home, ideally with a couple or a single person. While Lorax gets along with older children she knows, she prefers a calm environment and might find a bustling household overwhelming. She is affectionate with familiar faces but may bark at new visitors due to her cautious nature. An enthusiast of leash walks, Lorax is currently receiving training to manage her reactivity to other dogs and people. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard for her to explore and play in safely. She would thrive with an experienced dog owner who can continue her training and provide the structured environment she needs. We will not be able to accept applications from first time dog owners. Wagging Tails will provide a training session to help Lorax acclimate to her new home, ensuring a smooth transition for both her and her new family. Her inquisitive and intelligent nature, paired with her striking mustache, makes her an exceptional and adorable companion. If you're ready to offer a loving, patient, and experienced home, Lorax is eager to meet you and start her new adventure. www.waggingtailsdogrescueny.org

Story
Hi everyone, I’m Milly, a 2 year old Mini Schnauzer, and I’m looking for a family who will give me all the love and care I’ve missed out on. I weigh just 16 pounds and have a heart that is full of hope for a brighter future. I’ve spent my whole life confined to a puppy mill, so the world outside is still very new to me. I need a loving and patient family who can show me what it means to feel safe and truly loved. I’m super sweet, but I can be a little timid when I first meet new people. Once I warm up to you, though, I’ll be your best friend for life. You might notice my fur looks a little different right now—that’s because I had to be shaved down after being rescued. Don’t worry, though; my beautiful fur will grow back, and (hard to believe) but I’ll be even MORE adorable. The rescue has taken such good care of me, and they’ve scheduled my spay. I’m just waiting for the right family to come along and show me what it’s like to be truly cherished. If you’re ready to help me learn and grow, I can’t wait to meet you and be part of your life! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Bug ended up in a rural shelter in TX where she was part of a litter that the owners no longer wanted to deal with. The shelter was full and was going to have to start euthanizing for space. There was a plea out for several dogs and we ended up saving a few from there. Bug is a very sweet energic little girl. She is now ready for her new home after being fixed, had all shots, micro chipped, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Loves to play with other dogs. If you are interested in this pretty girl please email us at Doginghamrescue@aol.com so we can send you an application. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $650 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
❗ Current Location: South Korea❗ • Affinity with: -Cats: She currently lives with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats but is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. -Dogs: She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. -Adults/Kids: She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. • Shedding: Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. She is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. She also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. • Housetrained: She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood or plastic furniture and grab small items fallen on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. • Separation Anxiety: She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. • Bark or Howl: She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl • Carsickness: She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. • Personality: She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy.

Story
❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet ChuChu👋 a friendly lovable Schnauzer girl! Chuchu’s story at HDS began last May when she was transferred from a high-kill shelter. She arrived with a male dog, presumably her sibling, who has since been adopted, leaving Chuchu behind. Despite this separation, Chuchu has shown resilience and a positive attitude. In July, she was sent to a foster home, where she has continued to thrive and has been learning socialization. • Personality: Easy-going, Lively, Sweet Chuchu is a loving friendly Miniature Schnauzer! This social butterfly is unafraid of meeting new people and is quick to show affection. Her comfort in cars and elevators suggests she likely had a family before ending up at the shelter, indicating she is accustomed to various environments and experiences. Chuchu already knows several commands, including sit, wait, and shake. She is also comfortable with having her teeth and ears touched, which is a testament to her foster mom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Good around other dogs, but not necessarily actively playing with them. - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Very comfortable around new people including men / Not interested in children. • Walking Manners: She walks well on a leash! She gets excited and pulls a little bit at the beginning of a walk. However, she stops when her walker stops! She likes to sniff around. • Housetrained: Completely housebroken, both outdoors and indoors • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates bathing well / Not a big fan of brushing though! • Car Sickness: Very comfortable with car rides. • Separation Anxiety: none • Barks/Howls: Hardly… except when she sees animals on TV or when she hears a suspicious loud noise. • Appetite/Food Allergies: A little bit picky about kibbles / No food allergies • Shedding level (1~10): 2 • Likes/Dislikes: Her favorite thing is treats! She enjoys getting pets as well!

Story
Champ is a 4-year-old, 14-pound male schnauzer mix from Alabama. Champ is a gentle, kind, and friendly pup. He has adjusted very well during his time in Queens. Champ enjoys sniffing around the neighborhood, smiling at strangers, and playing fetch! Champ responds to his name and come, and is working on other basic commands such as sit and down. Champ is housetrained to relieve himself outdoors.  Champ is good on a leash and walks happily with his walker, pulling occasionally but responding well when reminded to stay close. Champ is not reactive to dogs or people, and readily greets anyone passing by with a big smile. Champ appears to have sensitive skin and has been observed to rub himself against furniture, fences, and bushes for some relief. Although it does not seem serious, he may benefit from regular grooming. Champ has done very well in the home during the day. He is non-destructive and calm when left alone, and would do fine in a crate during the day but doesn't need to. He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found relaxing nearby during downtime or playing fetch during active moments.  Champ would fit in with any family or solo person, and would do fine in a household with other dogs and/or children. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Champ, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2137323##
