Story
I adopted Kraglin as a buddy for my older dog. They get along and play very well together. He also does ok with my two cats. He has gone to a dog park once and played well. He likes to play rough and wrestle with other dogs and plays well with big dogs. He might be a little too energetic for a smaller or more gentle dog. I just moved to the area for a new job and am working long hours. Kraglin is young (about one year) and has more energy than I have time for. He is smart and has learned to sit and to wait while my other dog eats, but I am having a hard time getting him fully potty trained with my long work hours and limited time to spend on training. Kraglin would be a great family dog. He is medium-sized about 35 pounds. he is friendly and outgoing, he loves people and other dogs. He might be a bit much for very small children but would thrive in a family that has time to play with him and work with him on training. He comes with crate, leash, harness, toys, and bowls.

Story
Meet Kara, a sweet and gentle girl who recently arrived from a partner rescue and is now looking for her forever home. Kara is a little shy and scared at first, so she’ll need a calm and patient household where she can feel safe and comfortable. It’s important that her new family understands that she’ll need time to warm up at her own pace, and a peaceful, quiet environment will be key to helping her thrive. City living would not be ideal for Kara, as she’s more suited to a quieter, more serene setting. If you have another dog at home, a confident and friendly canine companion would be perfect for Kara. She would love to have a doggy friend who can show her the ropes and help her gain confidence in her new surroundings. With the right amount of time, patience, and love, we are confident that Kara will blossom into a wonderful, loyal companion. If you think you’re the perfect fit for this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application, and our team will reach out to you soon. Kara deserves a loving home, and we know she will make the right family incredibly happy!

Story
About Me: Name: Earth Lady Breed (or best guess): Schnauzer (or Mix) Approximate Age: 2 years Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 23 lbs Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family, only dog in the home Why In Rescue: Transfer Profile:  This cute girl came to us from our rescue partner in Texas to give her a chance at a home.  She is a friendly, happy girl who wants nothing more than a family to love.  If interested in this pretty pup, fill out the pre-adoption application at www.bichonrescues.com so we can set up a time for you to meet her.  Her breed and age are just our best guesses, we asked her, but she isn't telling!  As we have gotten to know Earth Lady a bit more, we believe she would do best as an only dog in the home.   We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 13, 2025, 8:25 pm

Story
Aubrey is estimated to be a 4-5 year old schnauzer mix. She came to us from one of our partner rescues after being released from a commercial breeder. She has been doing wonderful in her foster home learning what it is like to live in a home and receive love from individuals who care about her. We are confident that she is ready for her forever home filled with love and patience. Things to note about Aubrey: - She will need a patient home that will go slow with her. She is still timid but definitely has started coming around faster. - She needs another confident dog in her forever home that will continue to help her gain confidence and come out of her shell in a new environment. - She needs a yard because walks are still scary and though she is continuing in the right direction she still gets frightened with the loud noises in the city. This does not mean she won't be a dog who can go on walks but needs the patience and positive reinforcement. Aubrey is available for adoption within 3 hours of Chicago. Her adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines and preventatives, she is heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org
