Story
Gabby is a super sweet 18-week-old girl who is friendly with everyone she meets. She is being fostered with other dogs of various ages and sizes as well as cats. Gabby, her siblings, and her mom Ruby were surrendered by their owner who no longer wanted to care for them. After being a wonderful momma to her pups, Ruby has been adopted, and the pups are now thriving in loving foster homes. The puppies are crate trained and are already doing great with house-training. Gabby‘s foster mom says “She has a great personality and is a smart little girl. She has learned how to sit and is doing well with her potty training. Gabby likes playing with other puppies and is respectful to our kitties. Gabby is affectionate and loves to cuddle with us.” Gabby weighs 18 pounds. We think she will grow to be a medium size girl. She is up to date on vaccines and preventives and will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Gabby will be ready for adoption at the end of March. If you’d like to make this wonderful girl a member of your family, please email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Daisy is an affectionate, cuddly four and a half month old girl who loves everyone, plays well with other dogs, and enjoys her daily walks. She is being fostered with two of her siblings, other dogs of various ages and sizes, and cats. Daisy, her siblings, and her mom Ruby were surrendered by their owner who no longer wanted to care for them. After being a wonderful momma to her pups, Ruby has been adopted, and the pups are now thriving in loving foster homes. The puppies are crate trained and are already doing great with house-training. Daisy’s foster mom says “They are all very sweet and pretty calm for puppies. They love their playtime and walks, but they also love napping in my lap! Daisy is brave, curious and independent but comes when called and likes to stay by her people. Even though she is active, she calms right down and loves to cuddle up for naps. She is wonderful with other dogs and is curious about cats but doesn’t chase them. She rides very well in the car. She is an absolute joy to foster.” Daisy currently weighs 13 pounds. We think she will grow to be a medium size girl. She is up to date on vaccines and preventives and will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Daisy will be ready for adoption at the end of March. If you’d like to make this sweet girl a member of your family, please email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Please take the opportunity to meet this handsome, mountain cur mix, young adult pup. He is a fully grown dog weighing around 51 pounds. Because Larry is Initially shy when meeting new people, he has been overlooked by many potential adopters but is still seeking his forever family. Larry has much love to offer the family that is able to see past his shyness.Larry has been living happily in a foster home with other dogs and a loving family. that includes teens. Larry is an expert snuggler with his teenagers! He has some spunk with his medium/high energy and enjoys playtime with other dogs. Since coming into rescue, Larry has not had the opportunity to be introduced to cats. He will benefit from a family that will devote their time and energy to providing Larry with regular exercise, continued training and slow introductions in new situations. Larry is shy when meeting new people and will require the support and patience from his new family to help build his confidence. There are many great things ahead for Larry, and he is ready to meet a loving and devoted, forever family. He has mastered his crate, house and leash training. He is treat motivated so that will be a useful tool in assisting with positive reinforcement training. The adoption fee for Larry is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To help speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.April 25, 2025, 6:29 am

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. River~A Paws in Prison pup Young man River. And goodness, he can move like one! But he’s making up for lost time…the months he spent chained to a tree in the backyard. When his owner moved, River got left behind. Still on the chain. With nothing and no one. But thanks to one person’s determined heart, he was rescued and sent to us. He is a very friendly, bouncy guy. He smiles all the time and loves everyone…other dogs, adults, kids and cats. He is house trained. River is very smart and wants to please. He’s grateful for any kindness he gets. We believe River is a mountain cur mix or a catahoula mix, about 1 year old and 40 pounds. He has a cute little nub tail, a beautiful brindle coat and one of the flashiest smiles you’ll ever see! Despite spending montjs chained to a tree, River is a very good boy. He is a very friendly, happy go lucky boy who is eager to please and love anyone who is kind to him. River is currently at Paws in Prison, where he is paired up with 2 inmate trainers. He’s been there for about a week now, so he has 6 or 7 weeks left. While there, the inmates work with him everyday on basic obedience, leash manners, and some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. When he graduates, he will have his canine good citizen certificate. You can’t ask for more than that! River is a gem and someone will be so lucky to adopt him! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
