Story
Sam is approximately 7 years old. She ended up at HRA after her owner passed away. She joined us 7/2021. She had an ACL repair and is currently taking Trazodone twice daily for anxiety. Meds are no issue with pill pockets or similar. She enjoys balls, belly rubs, naps, chew toys. She walks well on leash (harness recommended); knows basic commands like sit, stay, house (crate), potty.  She does bark at people approaching the house (UPS, FedEx, etc). She is not a picky eater and has no known food allergies. She is housetrained and crate trained. She doesn't like to be left alone. Will rehome with collar, leash, harness, bed, small supply of food, toys. Looking for a home where she can get the attention she deserves.

Story
I found patients when she was just a puppy. I found her on the side of the road. She is absolutely sweet. She’s very shy at first, but she opens up and she’s the sweetest most loving girl. She doesn’t really play with toys, but she loves to play with her humans, she loves playing peekaboo and she loves nuzzling. She’s up-to-date on everything. She has no health issues. She’s on no medication besides preventative medication. She acts like a puppy a lot of the time she’s a beautiful sweet girl. I have to rehome her to no fault of her own. She is nine years old and she deserves to live out the rest of her years in a perfect home for her.

Story
Harper is a wonderful dog! She is about 1.5 years old, sweet and goofy, and loves to play with squeaky balls! She is an active dog and typically goes on 3 (15-30min) walks a day. She is house trained and crate trained. Harper has gone through basic training and is very food motivated. She is anxious around strangers and tends to do best with new people when she meets them with their dogs or around other dogs. I did start training to work on her anxiety and she has showed a lot of promise, but due to unfortunate circumstances I am no longer able to give Harper the life that she deserves. She should undergo more training (positive reinforcement) and see a behaviorist to help with her anxiety. She should not live with children as they make her very nervous, but with. Harper is a beautiful dog, a wonderful companion, and would make a great addition to any dog lover’s life!

Story
Yuma is an old girl who enjoys curling up on the couch, watching TV, going for walks in the woods, and getting belly rubs. We have had her for 10 years now. We originally adopted her from a shelter in Virginia where she had been given up by her original family due to anxiety issues around children which led to her urinating in the house. She did well in our home with minimal issues for many years until we had our own children. Once our eldest arrived, her rare accidents became frequent. We now have a 3 yr old and a new baby and she is unable to tolerate children crying and has become fear aggressive around our toddler. We have been struggling to manage and have come to the heartbreaking decision that we can't keep her. We want to find her a quiet home without any children or other pets and someone who is home a lot. Ideally, she would be with someone who is retired or works from home as she does not do well being in the house for long stretches of time alone.

Flynn-Bernadoodle male puppy, 6 mo. (DOB 2-22-24)(Aug. 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application. Flynn and his brother, Quinn, came to Rescue when a Trainer how helps save Puppy Mill dogs saved the boys. They were being abandon by their breeder. At 6 mo. Old, they were neglected, matted and being tossed out as they would not sell and make the Breeder any income. They are lovely big puppies, just getting started on the best of their lives. They are shy from not having a chance to be exposed to a 'real life'. The Trainer is fostering them, teaching them to trust, shaved off the mats and giving them lots of love. The boys will be probably 70-80# when grown. They will be loyal, fun dogs. Also, enjoy an active lifestyle. Flynn's adoption fee is $600 to cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.
