Story
Bertie is a sweet, loyal girl who loves to cuddle and look out the front window. She always obeys commands, and loves to walk and run. Her previous human liked to run with her on trails without a leash, but running or walking also works well with a leash. She is extremely loyal and never strays far, and comes when called. It would be great if she could find a parent who could run or walk with her, since she has a lot of energy and some anxiety. Until she was 3, Bertie was raised in a home with a 6 pound mini schnauzer sister. They never fought, but they did experience a lot of jealousy with one another, which made it difficult to parent both dogs. She'd do best alone or with a dog sibling of similar size. We rehomed Bertie at the beginning of 2024 to her new mom, and she had her for a year, but then was deployed to military service. Bertie's network of care fell through after this, so she's back in her original home, and her mom agreed that it was best to rehome Bertie again.

Story
Holly is a 10 year old hound mix. Her owners have both passed away and their next of kin is having difficulty balancing Holly, another dog, and an infant in the home. They know she deserves better care than what they can provide her at this time. Though she is 10 she still has a fair amount of energy, loves to run around and play outside, lounge on the deck and sunbathe or lounge around inside.

Mamacita's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Mamacita's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=005846) to learn even more about Mamacita! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Mamacita is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mamacita is a perfect land manatee that reminds everyone that it is OK to not be in a hurry. She loves being out in the world, so much so that she will bark into the air to say "hello world!" as she is walking down the sidewalk. She loves meeting everyone, including people, kids, dogs, cats, and will even walk up to pigeons to find out what they are doing. She has a hop in her step when we are heading out for walks, but will slow down tremendously when it looks like we are headed in the direction of home, and will sometimes stall by making friends with people at outdoor cafés. She is a whole different dog from when we first took her in, and is so very happy all the time. She takes daily medicine for her Cushing's and Addison's, and monthly arthritis medication, so she is thriving. It is a delicate balance between the 2 main conditions, but she takes it all in stride. Mama is still not very interested in wrestling with her foster sister, but she is a pro at unstuffing a stuffy. She might be deaf, or very, very hard of hearing, but that makes life in a chaotic city pretty easy. She knows basic commands given to her visually, is always looking at you to follow your cues, and always waits patiently for food and treats, even if others are getting them first. While she is super excited for mealtimes, she will sit and wait until given the ok to dig in. She prefers to be surrounded by people and other pets even if she's just laying down while chaos ensues.

It is impossible to know her and not to fall deeply in love with her. She knows many commands, such as sit, stay, paw, turn, and come. She has an amazing vocabulary too. Her favorite word is "treat." Her LEAST favorite word is "goodbye." Nova adores people. If she thinks someone is going to leave her, she will run to the door and try to block their egress. However, she is more than capable of entertaining herself. She is happy to sleep on her own bed or in her crate. However, if you give her a sign. she will gladly jump on the couch and be your weighted blanket. She is a big puppy who plays throughout the day. She likes puzzle toys, playing tug of war, and throwing stuff animals in the air. Nova is joy to be around. I feel lucky to have her as my foster dog over the holiday season. She truly brings joy ever day.

My favorite things are cuddles, playing tug, and (of course) treats! I also love to snore away on the couch, especially if you tuck me in with a cozy blanket. I've been told that I'm a very special girl who gains more confidence and learns more every day, and that it's truly amazing to watch me continuously grow into the best dog I can be. I hope you reach out to meet me so you can see for yourself what a good girl I am!
