Yogi is a Newfie retriever mix rescue who has been living with us in midtown Manhattan along with his 7 year old rescue sister, named Arya. We adopted him when he was approximately 2-3 months old to keep Arya company, since her 13yo brother (also a rescue) was dying of cancer. Yogi has been in training five days with a force-free trainer since arriving to our home. He is very sweet and smart. However, he has been displaying very concerning signs of fear-based aggression since becoming an adolescent. He has not bitten anyone, but we have had several close calls. While limiting/removing certain factors that would trigger his aggressive behavior. However, he continues to growl at random strangers, especially at tall, built men/people wearing hats or masks. Yogi lives in a busy high-rise building where encounters like these are frequent and unavoidable. We have come to the sad reality that perhaps the intense environment and overwhelming number of people in NYC is not the best fit.

Klaus has always been a playful 130 pound giant, known for his cheerful demeanor and affectionate nature. He is always in a constant state of excitement, and his favorite place is by your side 24/7. His nickname is Magnet because he is always in need of his humans presence and to always be one step behind you with his big drooly smile. His most favorite thing to do is stare at you with his big puppy dog eyes and then paw at you until you give him attention. He is always eager to greet new friends with a wagging tail and a big, sloppy kiss. With his lovable personality, Klaus loves all humans big and small but can be overly excited and be a bit overwhelming to small kiddos who can't handle his big size. He needs some basic training to help him work on his jumping. He loves having furry friends over for a romp in the fenced in yard but does better with bigger dogs since he is a dominant male who likes to show other dogs who's boss. Smaller dogs are not a match for him since he is very overwhelming to them. When he's not busy being the best furry friend anyone could ask for, Klaus enjoys lounging in the sun, going for long walks in the park, and accompanying you wherever you go. Especially if it's water! He loves splashing, getting muddy and showing all his dog friends where the best swimming spots are. His smart, playful antics never fail to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. **With his sweet nature, affectionate spirit, and unwavering loyalty, Klaus is truly a one-of-a-kind companion. He brings joy and laughter wherever he goes, making him one of the best Newfie boys ever! He deserves a loving home who will spoil him with treats, kisses and a big ole bed to enjoy snuggles on!!

Odin is a truly handsome, young, 88 pound, Great Pyr boy that was born 1/2/23 and is looking for a family to love and chill with. This big boy is fully grown and is the so very easy going and good natured. He was raised with his brother Thor on a country property owned by a senior lady who has come to realize that both the brothers need homes where they can be an inside dog and part of the family. She cannot provide that and so is now willing to let each one go to separate families that might have children (he loves children) and to be a part of maybe even living with other dogs or cats. He is good with everyone he meets and all creatures. This boy is not housebroken as he has never been inside for any length of time to learn the rules and the signals for potty breaks. He is a loving and easy dog to have around and we want him to become a part of a family life that offers him a big dog bed and lots of love and guidance. He is good with meeting new people and doesn’t bark excessively at all. He will bark if he is bored outside in a pen. He plays nicely and is fun and happy. Curious Civic is our most handsome freckled face, 80 lbs. Great Pyrenees mix boy that is just so laid-back guy that is just so wonderful to consider for an adoption. He has a beautiful blue eye and that could be from so many different breed mixtures that influence his good looks. This boy is under a year of age and at times can be dog selective if there is an alpha that tries to dominate him. He is just won’t take being pushed around. Most Great Pyrs will not. It is their breed and nature of the breed. He walks great on a leash, enjoys car rides and has a nice disposition that is loving and mild mannered. He would be a wonderful couch companion for watching anything YOU want on TV. Bowman, Bowman, Bowman! What a handsome boy you and what a little rascal you are at the same time. Loving, cuddly, shy, and yet outgoing when he feels secure, this handsome puppy is looking for a home to grow tall and strong within. He is a 6 month old Great Pyr/Lab mix that is 55 pounds and growing each and every day toward his goal of 70 pounds. He has the cutest freckles sprinkled across his ears and face and he has a nice soft white coat of fur. Bowman can be the typical pupster that will chew your phone charger cord if YOU the human is careless and leaves it accessible and actually any other cord that looks deliciously close or on the floor is totally in danger for a good investigative chew. He is pretty much housebroken and he is good in a fenced yard where he can just hang out and enjoy the great outdoors. He will bark for a little while after you leave him crated when leaving the house but must be crated and slowly he’s submitting to that reality. Another dog in the family would be a delight and wholehearted welcomed by Bowman. He is fine with cats, children are fun to play with (he frolics now with a neighbor 3 year old toddler) and dog parks are nothing short of “Disneyland for Dogs” in his eyes. He is pretty good on a leash and getting better daily with practice. We think a work from home or stay at home mom environment would be excellent for him and some children would be a plus, another dog a plus but neither is a necessity. Just company for Bowman is all that we are seeking. He is still polishing so much of his compliant personality. The Great Pyr persona is there deeply engrained in his soul. He would NOT be an apartment or townhouse candidate unless you can take him outside for hours daily to explore. Bowman fits in but he does have needs when he lives with you. Company is the biggest need and above all LOVE! LOTS OF LOVE AND SNUGGLE TIME.
