You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Spencer, the scrappy little street dog with a big heart and a lot of potential. Found wandering down Spencer Street in Texas, this smart pup is eager to learn and ready to find a family who’ll help him thrive. Spencer didn’t have the easiest start—he was a stray, so the basics like potty training and leash manners are all new to him. He’ll need a family with patience and a commitment to work with him on these skills. Belly bands have been helpful for him at first, but with time and consistency, Spencer’s intelligence and eagerness to please will shine through. Spencer loves being outside, where he can smell everything and explore to his heart’s content. He’s playful, enjoys chasing balls, and loves toys. Though he’s still learning the ropes, he’s already great in his crate, responds well to voice corrections, and adores praise and treats. One of Spencer’s standout traits is his athleticism—he can jump straight into your arms from the ground and has quite the spring for a little guy. He’s vocal in the morning when he’s ready to start the day and needs to be let out of his crate. Spencer is looking for an active and committed family willing to put in the time to help him catch up on the basics he missed as a stray. He’s got the smarts and the spirit; now he just needs someone dedicated to teaching him how to be the best dog he can be. Spencer is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 08/23/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
