Say Howdy to Daryl and Jessie! Their owner had to surrender them after an unexpected medical condition left him unable to care for them. This bonded pair are only a year apart, and have been raised together since puppyhood so we really want to keep them together! He’s a little bit country and she’s a little bit rock-n-roll, but they go together like peas and carrots! Daryl is a laid-back, handsome brindle with a sweet, calm demeanor, and gives the best dog hugs ever! The true hound that he is, he loves long walks with his nose to the ground or in the air to make sure those pesky squirrels stay up in the trees. But don’t let him fool you, he has a funny, mischievous side as well. If his nose can reach it, his mouth can eat it, but only when you’re not looking. While Daryl is happy moseying along, Jessie’s ready to put the pedal to the metal. She puts the “sass” in sassafras! When this girl gets excited, clear the floor, ‘cause she likes to dance like no one’s watching! This little fashionista somehow matched her eyes to her coat, she’s a real beauty! But there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with you on the couch. That is, once you move her over an inch and squeeze in beside her. She’s not giving up her spot easily! They may be polar opposites, but they agree that they are looking for somebody with a lot of love to give…and treats(bones)…and cuddles…and belly/butt rubs and, oh yeah, a big yard would be great because, well, they’re not the best on leash, but they’re getting better! Jack is a great little dog all around. She's happy-go-lucky, easy to live with and fun to be around! She's quiet in her kennel, great with cats and good with strangers and other dogs. She's doing well with house training and has only had two accidents with us. She can get a little bit nervous around strangers but she warms up quickly. Sweet and playful 4 year old Estrella is eager to love and be loved. At 45 pounds she is especially fond of going for walks and is eager to show you how well she walks in heel. She is mostly house-trained and after a minute or two will settle down nicely for a nap in her crate when left alone. Motivated by food and love, she accepts treats gently and knows all of her commands such as "come", "sit", "down", "place", "stay", "no", and "off". Estrella is quite the weekend warrior, going for long summer hikes, but is equally happy to curl up on her person's lap and cuddle while they read a book or watch TV together. She is up for almost anything as long as she gets to be with her human. Estrella has so much love to give that she needs to be the only pup and would do best without any other furry companions. If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375 . Our adoption fee covers the following: - Spay/neuter - Microchip - DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
