Story
This distinguished gentleman is Linc! He arrived as a lost boy at the shelter on 7/24, and no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know this sweet boy and they describe him as friendly and treat-motivated. He LOVES when the volunteers come to get him out of his kennel for walks. If you're looking for a walking buddy, Linc still has lots of pep in his step! Linc isn't a fan of being in the shelter; he's confused and restless being in this environment. Linc has some patchy fur, but with medicated baths and a little TLC he'll be looking and feeling his best in no time at all. If you're looking for a mature and chill dog to join your family please come meet Linc! Linc is approximately 8 years old, and he weighs 65 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he has been neutered. He will be microchipped and heartworm tested upon adoption. Linc is waiting in run 407; his ID # is 660577. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Laid back family dog Lobo aka "Goofy" Likes: food, treats, walks, cuddles, kisses, playing (with humans or other dogs), sun bathing, socks Just started to: fetch, do zoomies/crazies Working through: car rides, FOMO He can sit, stay, lay down & doesn't mind the kennel. He can eat his food around other dogs, kids & adults. He's not a huge barker (at people outside). Lobo is super chill but so excited at the same time. Would be a great fit with other dogs. Lobo is such a lovable, gentle soul.  He absolutely loves other dogs and  people. Loyal and easy going, he's the perfect companion for humans and dogs. He is allergic to chicken as a protein in his food and is using fish as the main protein, he’s definitely gaining the weight he needs!    He is finding his voice and does do some barking.    He loves to play and has learned tug of war, both with humans & other dogs.    Lobo loves treats and to cuddle and gets so excited over everything.    We are still working on him not jumping on people, but still also trying to allow him to be a dog.    He may eat your food if it’s within his reach, but he has gotten a lot better at that (he was starved when we found him). Lobo does great on a leash (harness/leash) and enjoys walks.    He is a little anxious and still getting used to everything going on in the world.    He does get nervous in car rides and will pee, but we’re working on that, too.    He does great being left out (of the kennel) over night and so far, up to 5-6 hours, but also does great if he’s put in the kennel.    Lobo gets a little nervous at night when I open the back to door let them all pee before bed and sometimes will need you to walk out there with him while he does his thing (I think he was left outside before he was abandoned and afraid you’ll leave him out there).  He doesn't mind the rain, either! Lobo pays attention to what the other dogs do and follows suit!   He can eat at the same time, right next to the other dogs and they all respect each other’s boundaries.    He is great waiting in line for his treats, too!    He is good with baths and trimming his nails.   He can sit, lay down, & stay.  He is the perfect fit if you’re wanting another dog to keep your current dog company, without starting at the puppy phase.    He has great energy.  Age: 2 years WT:  41lbs. Temperament: Good with all people and dogs.   Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    Training: House trained, crate trained, knows a few commands,  For questions, please email hmlid14@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. August 20, 2024, 8:57 am

APPLY TODAY to meet me, I'll WOW you with my charm and cuteness!  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes.
