Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Dillon, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Dillon is a handsome and quirky little mixed breed dog, he’s approx. 10 months of age, he has a soft, brindled coat, and he weighs approximately 45 pounds. Dillon enjoys meeting new people and he’s reported to do well with other dogs. Dillon was pretty scared upon arrival so we’re giving him some down time to decompress. He is extremely friendly but he doesn’t always want to go outside. But after only three days, he has settled in to his new environment, built trust with members of our volunteer team, and he seems eager for his next adventures. Dillon was vaccinated in late December, shortly after being found as a stray and fending for himself. His first Vet appt. is being scheduled this afternoon; he will get additional vaccinations, a microchip, and whatever else he is due for. If you would like to meet this quirky, sweet boy, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Otherwise, please help me find Dillon’s forever home by sharing this post with your friends and family, if you can.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
--FOSTER PUPDATE--Marco A17176545 lbs. neutered male, approx 1 year oldHey hooman friends! Marco here, aka Marky Mark, reporting live from my foster home. Life is WAY better now that I'm out of the shelter! My foster family says I'm a very good boy, so let me tell you all about myself. My PersonalityYoung, energetic, and always ready for fun!Super affectionate—I give kisses, and I love pets and snuggling, but I’m also happy to chill on my own.Very curious and alert! I like to take in the world around me.When I’m excited, nervous, or overstimulated, I whine to tell you how I feel. But once I settle in, I’m good!I have adorable ear kabooms and I’m soooo handsome. (Foster pawrents say so, and they wouldn’t lie.)My Favorite ThingsTOYS! Stuffies with crinkles (so fun to destroy), Nylabones, sticks, and anything I can shred are my jam. Tennis balls are meh, and rope toys and squeakers get me a little too hyped up.Running around the yard! I’d probably be a great jogging or hiking buddy.FOOD. I’m very treat-motivated, which makes training super fun!Enrichment activities—puzzle feeders, Kongs, snuffle mats, and shredding boxes with kibble inside keep my brain busy.Training & Home LifePotty trained: Just a couple of (#1) accidents at first, but none since. I know which door to go to, but I haven't learned to announce my business yet.Crate trained: I sleep 7-8 hours in my crate at night and even nap in there during the day. I also do well behind a baby gate. I haven’t been left home alone yet, though.Puppy stuff: It's fun to grab a shoe when someone comes in the door--having visitors is so exciting, I just can't help myself! When I'm feeling playful down on the ground, I might give you some affectionate "pibble nibbles", and when I get really excited, I might mistake your hands or feet for toys. Whoops. But I'm pretty gentle about it, and I'm trying really hard to chew on my toys instead!I know stuff! Like “sit”, “down”, “off”, “stay”, and “come”. I’m working on “drop”, “leave it”, and “watch me”. I’m a smart boy and I really want to do what you’re asking me to! I just get distracted sometimes.Leash walking is a work in progress. I get excited and pull on walks when I see other dogs. Or birds. Or leaves. Walks are amazing.New things (like the TV and wall art) were spooky at first, but I adjusted quickly. I just need a little time to adjust to new places. My Ideal Home Will Have:A yard to zoom around in, or just plenty of exercise and enrichment!Patient, gradual intros to any pets--I saw a cat a few times from behind a baby gate and was very interested but didn’t bark, growl, or charge. And I’d REALLY like a dog friend, but I’m still learning my manners and how to control my excitement.Someone who will keep up with my training and see my potential to be a really, really, good boy!I can’t wait to find my forever family! Could that be you? This pet is in a foster home! If you are interested in meeting Marco, please email foster@friendsofdacc.org with subject line “Marco A171765”Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adoptThere is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, and $40 for cats payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Paisley is a great pup, she's super sweet, practically a professional cuddle, very smart, food and treat motivated, so will be easy to train with consistency and positive reinforcement as she is also a pleaser. She also has no resource guarding. Paisley loves other dogs and is good with my cat, though may be a bit rough for an older or frailer feline. She has medium energy, is crate and potty trained, and loves her toys. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 7, 2025, 10:06 am
