Animal Profile: Vixen is an adorable chihuahua mix who was estimated to be around 7 years old at the shelter, but we suspect she is closer to 4 years old. She is still quite active and playful!  Vixen is also the perfect size, weighing in around 18lbs. She was rescued from Moreno Valley shelter in CA.  Foster Update: Vixen's foster mom shares, "She is a sweet girl who LOVES her humans, toys, toys and more toys and treats! She is settling in well, and has been pretty good with her potty habits and we are working on teaching her recall. She has learned sit, lie down, and shake. She does just fine around our 2 dogs. She has played a few times with one of them and she is pretty respectful with the other one who doesn't really want anything to do with her, but she is inquisitive so it may take her a few times to learn not every pup is interested in engaging. Vixen doesn't mind being in her crate for meals, bedtime, etc. It isn't uncommon to catch Vixen playing with her toys by herself, but you may need to toss it once in a while." It's her facial expressions that are truly priceless! She is a sweet, funny, and playful girl that is excited to find a forever family of her own. Because Vixen has shown a tendency to play with hands (we are working on this), she would do best in a home without young kids. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Look no further than Dottie (hey, hey, that's me!) and I'm here looking to adopt me a family...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of your family!!!! I am now ready to start on this new chapter of my life with lots of hugs, puppy kisses and playtime!!! I came from a hoarding situation where I was housed with 96 (yes, 96!) other dogs. I have never known until now the kind words, gentle pets that other pups take for granted. I am finding that this is pretty darn nice!! I'm all for these snuggles and belly rubs!! As for my previous situation, I will need time to come to terms with my living situation. Once you have gained my trust with slow movements, gentle words and maybe a treat or two ;) I do become very loving sweet and cuddly. It just takes me a little more time then some to get there, but I do get there!! I'm probably around 3 years old and I come in at about 10lbs. I'm also already house trained so that lets us get right to the snuggles!!! I love playing and am energetic, ready to share in all your adventures from the mundane daily to your weekend exciting!! I do good in the crate but would much prefer being close to my person!! I would do best in a quiet home where my person(s) are either retired or work from home. I would also do best in a home with another 4 legged sibling to help me feel more comfortable. I've got a beautiful white and black coat that is super easy in the maintenance department, kind of a wash-n-go type of gal. You do know what that means, don't ya? Yep yep, more time for the spoil me rotten department!! I am sooooo ready to find me a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet or preferably on your lap, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for your home and you have the time and patience to let me find my peace, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! Animal Profile: Scrappy is an adorable Chihuahua/Whippet mix (best guess) who was rescued from a high kill shelter in CA. He is estimated to be about 5 years old, and weighs about 10 lbs. Foster Update: Meet Scrappy! This boy is all love, and he is quick to capture the heart of anyone he meets. He can be a little shy/timid at first, especially in new situations, but it doesn't take Scrappy long before he is crawling into your lap and asking for pets. He is a grade-A snuggler, and an incredibly sweet boy. He will gladly follow by your side, and seeks approval and affection from his people. Scrappy does well with other small dogs, and it is excited about the prospect of making friends. He would do well in a home with another dog, but would do just fine as a solo dog, soaking up all the love. Scrappy does great in his crate, and he is getting better on leash, though he's still a bit timid in the outside world. We'll continue to post more info as we get to know him.
