THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.  Please do NOT submit an application through LALDR. Please contact Kristi at kristi.toews@yahoo.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the intelligent Ivy and here's some information about me:Age: 4  yearsBreed: Purebread English PointerWeight: 40 lbsGender: Female Note that I am part of a bonded pair (see Dexter). True to my breed, I love being outside, exploring the great outdoors and chasing butterflies. Food is not a great motivator for me, but I relish in a good sunggle, curling up with you under a blanket. As an independent dog, I don't really need other dogs to play with, but for dogs like Dexter, who's been in my life for a few years, I have accpeted him as part of the pack. I wouldn't have chosen role of mentor for myself, but Dexter seems to think that since I'm older, I'm also the wiser one, so I go along with that and accept him as my shadow, following me around everywhere. Due to unfortunate circumstances, our owner has to move in February and will not be able to take us with her, so were a looking for our new forever family. Ideally we would need to go together - I would worry about Dexter out there on his own.  I am spayed, vaccinated and house trained.  An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. I am by no means an alpha male, having been surroudned my females all my life and honestly, I like it that way. Food is my most favourite thing and you can totally bribe me with a tasty treat. Oh helloooo. My name is PERI and here is a little info about me:Breed: Pointer mix (Braque d'Auvergne mix)Age: 2-1/2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 20 kgHeight: 65 cmCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlight(s): gentle, affectionate, well-mannered, calm My name means "fairy", taken from the Persian culture. Peri are renowned for their beauty, as well as their mischievious spirit. And a beauty I am, both in soul and looks. Not so much the mischievious part in my bones though. My story is one of resilience, love, and second chances. Found in a municipal shelter in Turkey after being hit by a car and unable to walk, the kindness of volunteers saved me. I was rescued, received surgery, and made a full recovery. I improved every day with ongoing treatments and supplements. No limitations on my ability. And once I healed, my true personality began to shine— a gentle, affectionate, and loyal soul, who wins the hearts of everyone I meet. My beautiful disposition makes me an easy addition to any home.I love exploring the world by your side! Whether it’s a peaceful walk in the forest, a coffee date at your favorite café, or a relaxing day in the park, I enjoy every moment spent with my human. Displaying a calm and well-mannered behavior in public makes me the perfect dog for an active, yet balanced lifestyle.I adore both cats and dogs and am always eager to play and form new friendships. I thrive in a home with other pets and brings a wonderful, gentle energy wherever I goes.I am told I walk beautifully on a leash—no pulling, no rushing, just a graceful, well-behaved walking partner. When I see the leash, I patiently sit and wait, excited for our next adventure together. When the day winds down, I am happiest snuggled up on the couch with you. I love affection, belly rubs, and simply being close to my favorite people. I am more than just a pet — I am a devoted companion, ready to share a lifetime of love, joy, and adventure. If you're looking for a best friend who will always be by your side, I am waiting to meet you! Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2336202##

Story
Hi future fam! My name is Junior and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Pointer mix Age: 10 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 33lbs (15 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was found on the streets of Guadalajara as a weeee puppy of only two months old. My foster hooman and recuer was out for a walk, sadly grieving the loss of one of her beloved pups when I darted into her path and right into her arms, hungry and afraid! I think I knew a good hooman when I saw one and I felt that she needed a little relief from her heartbreak. And that's exactly what she got! Despite the fact that I was malnourished and had a few fleas along for the ride (all better now!), I am a bundle of love and joy that can brighten up any household. You could even say that's my superpower! TEMPERAMENT - I loooove hugs and all affection from my two-legged buddies! I'm also a real goofball who often makes my foster laugh by getting myself into...um...predicaments such as getting stuck on surfaces that are a bit too high up for me (I'm still wee ya know!). Some of my favourite things in the world are TOMATOES, treats and cuddles! I would love to be a ray of sunshine in your life and  be a loving part of your family forever!  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes! I have been tested with older kids as you can see here and here.  Dogs – I get along well with other pups and currently live with many other doggos at my foster's house! Cats – Yes! You can see more in my video PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am okay with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training :) House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – My rescuer says I am good with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2204083##

Story
Hi, my name is CARSON (Charlie) and here is a little info about me:Age: 4 yrsGender: maleWeight: ~27 kgHeight: 64 cmHighlights: playful with other dogs, cuddly, good with all people My rescuers think I had a home and was used as a hunting dog before, but was abandoned when I had an accident and injured my legs. I was wandering the streets when I spotted an animal lover. When she gave me some attention, I didn’t want to let her go and tried to get into her car. When she let me, I was so happy that I put my head on her lap the whole ride home to thank her. I am a happy, playful boy who loves meeting new people and going out for adventures. I am very good with people and build up an emotional connection with people very quickly. I am good with children, men and women. I don’t like cats. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy playing with them, but I do consider myself the alpha and I don’t like sharing my food with my four-footed friends. I love getting attention from people and am very cuddly. I am very loyal to my human. My ideal home you ask... I would be happy with an active, young family who takes me out on lots of adventures, or a quieter home with children. I am not very fussy, as long as I have people to give me cuddles, I will be happy! Energy level: moderate I get along with:dogs: yescats: nokids: yes, await vid Prey drive: medium. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient with me through my transition. Training: some leash trainingLeashleash skills still need some work. Generally happily walks alongside human handlers, can become stressed and may refuse to walk when he feels pressure from collar/harness. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help! Health notes: I have a limp in my right hind leg. My rescuers don’t know what caused it, but according to the vet, there is an old break that healed incorrectly on it's own. No intervention or treatment is necessary or recommended now. I will be able to have a normal life despite my limp. Sometimes I prefer not to use my leg, but when I run and play I do use it. My rescuer can provide X-Rays.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Story
URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Guten Tag, Gamarjoba, Hey... I'm GRETEL (Gracie) and here is some info about me:Breed: German Wire-Haired Pointing GriffonAge: 3 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 73 lbs (33 kg)Height: 24-1/2 inches (62 cm)Country of Origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: Devoted, affectionate, intelligent, high-spirited I am much like my fairytale namesake; I’m quick witted, clever, and have been known to get out of some scary situations! My story goes like this: Once upon a rainy day, in a land far, far away, I was running scared and confused through the town streets. I was being chased relentlessly by a pack of six big, bad male dogs who would not leave me alone! Little did I know that, because I was in heat, they were following my scent everywhere I went. Terrified and exhausted, I came up with a clever plan: I ran to the local dog refuge! The kind fairy god-humans saw what was happening and immediately brought me into the safety of their castle, just in the nick of time! Once there, they did some kind of magic spell on me to make sure I’d never have to go into heat again, and I’ve been living there with all of my new dog friends ever since!I am a multi-faceted heroine, who loves to write her own story! I am a devoted and affectionate friend who wants most of all to be by your side. I am delighted to spend my days lazing by your feet, soaking up all of your love and adoration. However, just like every good tale, there needs to be action and adventure, too! When it’s time to play, all of my cleverness comes out and you get to see just how smart I am. True to my gun dog breeding, I am an active and driven chaser who loves to play catch…though, also true to my breed, I can be cheeky about giving the toy back easily. It’s a really great way to make sure I have ALL of your attention during playtime. With gentle, consistent training though, I *could* be convinced that it’s more fun to play another way. My rescuers used to think I was stubborn, but came to find out I am actually deaf. Despite this fact, my fairy god-humans think I’d take exceptionally well to learning fun new games, like scent work and fly ball! My very favourite game is chasing a toy on a string! You might as well have cast an enchantment on me, because I will transform from your relaxed, lazy foot-warmer into a glorious magical beast who will bark excitedly and chase the toy until the clock strikes midnight if you let me!I love other dogs and get along well with all of them, but I haven’t had a chance to meet a cat. I haven’t had experience with children either, but my fairy god-humans think I’d have no problem with older kids.If you are an active, engaging home with lots of love to give, I would love to go on all the rest of my adventures with you. I’d be an excellent hiking companion, and with my cleverness and powerful nose, we wouldn’t even need a trail of breadcrumbs to find our way out of the woods! A kind home with loving humans who engage both my heart and my mind would truly be my happily ever after! Hiya. My name is Aylin and here is a little info about me:Breed: Briquet Griffon Vendeen/Terrier mixAge: 2-1/2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 48 lbHeight: 22 inchesCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Calm, tri-paw, joyful, very affectionate, independent, low exercise needs Despite losing a hand, I walk with grace and my heart is full of love. I am a gentle and affectionate dog with a deep love for humans! My journey began as a beloved pet, but life took a turn, leaving me on the streets of the Middle East. Life on the streets was tough, especially with my missing paw. It us unknown how it happened. Life hasn’t been easy since I lost one of my paws, but my spirit remains unbroken. Being abandoned broke my little heart... But then an incredible human rescued me! Now, I'm living in a shelter and cared for by wonderful volunteers. The shelter provides me with necessities; however, it is not a proper place for a dog with disabilities so they have to keep me in a small room for the majority of the time. I am stuck within these walls until something (someone!) alters my path. Is that someone you? I am absolutely irresistible, no doubt about it! I am a lover through and through!I adore spending time with dogs and people of all ages. Even though I cherish my other furry pals, there's something about being with humans that makes my tail wag extra hard! Sometimes I daydream about snuggling with my favorite human on a cozy couch. I imagine spending quality time together indoors or outdoors, perhaps on a covered deck, where I can watch birds and squirrels. I just can't wait for these dreams to come true... can you take me there? I promise I will bring nothing but joy and happiness into your life. A big plus is there should be enough of a leg stump to provide me with a prosthetic. Then I could run and play like all the other dogs too.I'm a sweet & loving girl, and I so enjoy being around people and other dogs. My favorite pastimes are chilling and cuddling with my human. BONUS! I am leash-trained, and not a barker! I know that I'm not supposed to pee inside, but I might need a little bit of training to re-acquaint me in that area since I've been in the shelter now.
