Story
Spots is the whole package-at eight years old this senior cutie is well-mannered and drama-free, but will happily prove "not all seniors" with his playful, acrobatic ways. He's a social butterfly who loves adventure, making him an ideal companion for an active household. Spots loves soft toys he can tear apart, going on long walks, and receiving butt and head scratches for doing a good job. Easy enough; this loveable pup is a dream!Spots has been looking for his match for almost 6 months-a very long shelter stay for any animal. He's going to make a stellar companion, but don't take our word for it. Stop by out Oakland adoption center or email our staff to meet Spots! customercare@eastbaypca.org Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 75.2 Age: 9yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Amaya is a sweet pointer girl who came to us from Stanislaus County. She's quite friendly and loves both giving and receiving hugs. She'll give you kisses both on your hands or your face if you'll let her. She seems to know 'shake' and while she can be a bit mouthy, it's always very gentle and comes from a place of play. Immediately upon arriving she took to a couple squeaky chew toys, so she'd love to have access to those. She's not fully housebroken, so she'll need some work getting that down, but if you'll put in the work, she'll be a loving and energetic family member!

Story
Poppy is an adorable young pup who came into rescue with an injured leg. We didn’t know the extent of the injury – would she need surgery? Would she possibly lose the leg? Would the leg recover? Poppy had a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon, and the outlook is good! It’s the type of injury that might heal without surgery, so the plan is 6 weeks of strict rest, and then reassess. If things are on track, no surgery. If the leg is not healing properly, then we’ll move forward with surgery, which is estimated at $8,500 to $9,900, and 10 weeks of cage rest. We’ll know in early October if Poppy will need surgery. Keep your fingers and paws crossed for Poppy! Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Poppy's been up to, check out her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Meet Emmett: Your Goofy, Lovable Best Friend in the Making! If sweet and silly is your kind of vibe, Emmett might just be your dream dog! This lovable goofball is a 1-in-a-million mix of playful energy and laid-back chill. He’s happiest romping around the yard with his foster brothers (two GSPs he gets along with like a champ) or cuddling up close—so close, in fact, that he might “accidentally” bump into you while you’re moving around the house. He hasn’t mastered personal space yet, but we think it just means he really loves being by your side! What Makes Emmett Awesome: Social Superstar: Emmett adores doggy friends and thrives with a canine squad. Whether wrestling, playing tug-of-war, or just lounging together, he’s a team player.Trainable Goof: In just one week, he learned to sit and wait for his food—a sign that his food motivation makes him a training pro. He already knows “sit,” “shake,” and “come,” and he’s ready to keep learning!Easygoing Homebody: While Emmett loves outdoor adventures like yard zoomies and bird-watching, he’s also content to lounge around and relax by your feet while you work. Things to Know About Emmett: Manners in Progress: He’s working on greeting people without jumping (he’s just SO excited to meet everyone!) and learning to steer clear of household items left lying around—so far, only one guitar tuner has met its end.Food Enthusiast: Mealtime is his favorite time of day, and he’s learning to respect his foster siblings’ bowls. Feeding him separately works great while he learns.Best Fit: Emmett’s love for closeness and his goofy clumsiness might make him a better match for families without toddlers or elderly individuals who could be accidentally tripped. A home with another dog (or two!) and folks who are around often would be his dream! The Essentials: House-trained? &#226&#156&#133 No accidents, even overnight.Crate-trained? &#226&#156&#133 Sleeps soundly all night (especially if you bribe him with a Greenie!).Leash Manners? &#226&#156&#133 Pretty good.Exercise Needs? &#226&#156&#133 Daily yard play and wrestling with other dogs keep him happy, though he’d love hikes or runs too.Emmett’s foster family says, “Everyone who meets him falls in love.” If you’re ready for a cuddly, goofy, and trainable best friend, Emmett is ready for you! Could you be his forever family? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Emmett's been up to, check out his posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs.December 1, 2024, 10:19 pm
