Story
Keanu is one of the goofiest dogs we’ve ever taken in. He absolutely loves his toys and takes them with him on walks. We estimate him to be somewhere around 6 years old. We don’t know his exact breed mix, but he’s got the body of a terrier, the face of a great dane, and the coloring of a pointer! Keanu arrived here in California early January 2022 all the way from Florida. He was found by a good samaritan who picked him up while barely clinging to life on the side of the road. The rescuer believes he was discarded from no longer being able to be used as a bait dog (dog fighting). Once his rescuer was able to get him in a healthy state she sent him to our rescue for training. He is a very happy loving boy who is now looking for his forever home!August 19, 2024, 6:34 pm

Story
Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
My name is Fury because of the distance and way I covered ground as a stray.  I was very young (less than a year old) and very scared.  I would spend a few days or weeks in one location and move far away.  They say it would not be credible if there were not photos to prove it!  After a long distance and time I was creatively secured and safe.  No one came looking or claimed me from the shelter so my captor saved me again.  It took some time, but I learned to trust, embraced love and now find friends in people and fur.  At events I am quick to roll over for rubs, will look at you with my gooey eyes and ask for more when you stop.  I enjoy outings on leash and in public.  I LOVE my people and can't wait to greet them or have one on one wth them.  I do struggle when left alone  so need to be supervised, with someone at all times or safely contained (my escapee skills are almost as impressive as my destruction).  I am all about being honest but have a huge heart and love to give.    They didn't think I'd make it this far but three years later here I am....... Out and about, confident with people and LOVING life, limited as it is in a rescue.  Please give me a chance and I won't let you down. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life.
