Story
Hello! My name is Freckles, I came into the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. The person who found me said I enjoyed playing with their dog though proper introductions are always recommended to ensure harmony. I have also shown to have high prey drive so should not be in a home with cats or small animals. I enjoy getting attention from people and peanut butter is my favorite treat! Thanks for considering adopting me!Freckles and her unrivaled speckles are still waiting for a home. Check out these lovely insights from her adventure buddy...`Freckles is the sweetest girl ever. She is super energetic and loves to play with her toys. She prefers soft toys so she can rip them up and loves to chase a tennis ball. After she’s done playing she becomes the most cuddly girl and loves to curl up next to you on the couch and snore. She still needs some training but is a very sweet girl!!``My husband and I really enjoyed going on a hike with Freckles. She was very excited when we picked her up, but calmed down as soon as she got in the car. We took her to Carolina North Forest and found that she loves hiking in the woods and finding all the scents. She only pulled on the leash for the first several minutes, and after that she was great on the leash and was calm and focused on the hike. She was able to easily hike about 3.5 miles and seemed strong the whole time. She would occasionally stop and come back to us for pets, and then get back to sniffing along the trail. She easily passed other walkers, runners, and bikes, but had some trouble passing other dogs - she would pull and try to go meet them. We started stopping and giving her treats when we saw other dogs and that helped quite a bit. When we drove back to the shelter after the hike, she climbed into my lap and took a short nap. Freckles is an excellent hiking/walking companion and is a very sweet and affectionate girl.`

Story
Quin was adopted from original owner at 5 1/2 yes old. Born 10/25/17. She weighs 86#. Has always lived indoors. She has skin allergies and eats Purina Pro Plan for dogs with skin allergies. Her back is sensitive to touch. For weight loss, she was on a green bean diet and loves her green beans. Has been on a joint suppĺement for a year that has helped tremendously. She requires heavy chewer toys, no stuffed animals. She points beautifully, stalks her prey (bunnies, squirrels, birds, cat) and goes after it but hasn't caught them. There have been behavioral issues with two dogs smaller than her. She is very protective of owner. Can be overly friendly and does not believe in personal space.

Story
Notes from foster: Chico is such a fun and friendly dog! His favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, going for walks, playing with toys, then cuddling on the couch again! He is housebroken but he doesn't give clear signals, so frequent "potty breaks" initially will help him and his new family transition without accidents. He did fine in the crate when he was home alone, but did bark for a few minutes when first kenneled. Busy toys, like a kong with peanut butter, for him when crated would be best! At night he slept in my bed or my roommate's bed. Chico loves toys! He loves fetching tennis balls, chewing on bones, and destroying stuffed toys. He has a playful energy and has gotten along with dogs he's met. On walks he walks with purpose at an eager pace, but is not difficult to control. He is friendly to people and dogs we pass by. Chico will make a wonderful pet! He is goofy and very loving.
