Story
Thanks to a generous grant from the Robert H. Reakirt Foundation, my adoption fee is partially sponsored! My new family can take me home for $125. Meet Ruby, your new best girl! Ruby is a sweet and loving 7-year-old Pointer mix who's ready to find a new forever home. Despite being abandoned at a shelter by her previous adopter, Ruby is a gentle spirit with a heart full of love looking for a family to provide the stability and affection she truly deserves. Ruby loves to be outside on walks or playtime in the yard. She's good on a leash, quiet in her crate, and knows sit/stay/paw. Ruby would be best in a home without young children. This beautiful girl has been through a lot, but she's ready to open her heart again to the right family. Could that be you? Apply today to give Ruby the loving home she's waiting for. Ruby is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $125.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.

Story
When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! ADOPT...........DON'T SHOP!!! My LIFE depends on it!!! LOcal adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Oreo!** Oreo is a delightful pointer mix, about a year and a half old, and she’s on the lookout for her furever home! This big sweetheart is the ultimate cuddler, often found nestled on your lap while you work, and she has a playful spirit that will keep you entertained for hours. Just take a look at those adorable spotted paws—she truly is a lady! Oreo thrives on daily adventures and does best with a long walk or training session to keep her happy and engaged. She knows basic commands like sit, paw, leave it, and stay, and she's eager to learn even more! While she’s house trained, she’s still perfecting her recall and leash walking skills. With your patience and time, there's no limit to what this smart girl can achieve! She needs a securely fenced yard since she loves to run. Oreo enjoys spending time at the barn and is comfortable around horses and other barn animals. However, she would do best in a one-pet home. Additionally, she might not be the best fit for families with little kids due to her playful nature. Help us find Oreo the loving home she deserves! Share her story and let’s get her on the path to her best life! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 8, 2025, 9:43 pm

Story
Mama aka Miley is sooooo sweet. She is a cuddler. Loves belly rubs. Would love a home without cats, shes a english pointer mix so she has prey drive. She is not a fan of my small foster so my big dogs are not a fan of her, so I would think no other dogs either unless experienced in intros. She does great crated and has been barking for potties. She free roams my bedroom and has not eaten or tore anything up. She is spayed/vaccinated and dewormed. Even when she returns her original finder will still be looking for a home for her. She took her on as a foster from a stray roam because she was pregnant and sweet.l but her dogs plus mama and the puppies are overwhelming. She is ome of the most affectionate dogs i have met. She gives small kisses. Loves hugs.
