Name: Emma Age: 3 years old Gender: Female Neutralization: Completed Breed: Pointer Mix Color: Black and White Spotty Weight: 46 LB (21kg) Hello!! My human friends!! I am Emma, an energetic Pointer mix aged 3. I am a lovely girl with warm heart and brightness. However, people did not know me, and I was on the list of euthanasia at the city shelter. Fortunately, a kind rescuer saved me, and here I am. Now, I am sooooo ready to meet my lovy dovy happy family. I am very bright girl with full of charming energy. I love people’s attention and being petted. On the spot of meeting new people, my tail does not stop wagging and my ears get flat with happiness. My handler said that it was so difficult to take a picture of me with proper ear shape because they got flat all the time when I was with people. I really enjoy being companion with people and I assertively approach to them to be petted. If you rub my belly, I will melt down immediately for more petting. I am very good with new doggie friends. I usually say hi gently to them and then, just mind my own business. I can share treats with them and smell out each other to get to know. Though I am more interested in people and exploring new environments. Outdoor activities and exercising are my favorite things. As I am a Pointer, I need to consume my energy properly. Otherwise, I may get stressed out. I also need to take my potty break outside, so regular strolling is essential for me. I may get excited when I go for walk and pull on leash a bit but this should be settle down soon with some training, for sure. If you need a companion who can enjoy a lot of energetic activities together, I am here for you. :D If you see me, you will instantly realize how adorable I am. I have bright energy and easy-going personality. Let me spread my happy virus to you. We can have lots of fun adventures together!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9llIlTwDg6Q&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JzewDjO_YZjw6S8DZTZAgbu ❤ we accept both Canada/US applicants ❤

Story
DUKE is a POINTER MIX, 4 years old and weights approx 24kg. "DUKE" was found by a SPFG friend who was out in the woods with her dog. He was unconscious and starved almost to death, just skin on bones. He was one of the countless puppies hunters abandon when they discover they can't use them or sell them for hunting or breeding. Anastasia took him straight to our vet and called us. After a long phase of convalescence, followed a long period of recuperation; but now "DUKE" is a picture of health, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, also housebroken and leash trained. "DUKE" is an absolutely carefree boy who just loves everyone and everything, dogs, cats, people, strangers, bees, toads, car rides, doctors, butterflies, food. He gets excited seeing his friends even after a 5 min parting. He is curious, inquisitive and as a hunting dog has unlimited energy outdoors, whereas he calms inside. "DUKE" is a sensitive boy, very affectionate who needs gentle handling. He would be happy in any type of family, if he has ways to spend all that energy. Story
ELLIE" is a POINTER MIX, about 4 years old and weights aprox. 25 kg. "ELLIE" was saved by Anastasia herself who believed the dog to be pregnant so she picked her up from the street in order to have our vet check her out and then bring her to our sanctuary to safely deliver her babies. But the stop at our vet proved that "ELLIE" was simply fat. Needless to say that Anastasia did not return the dog to that area but brought her in to our sanctuary where she's been loved and cared for ever since. Anastasia found out later that a woman in that neighborhood in order to keep the strays around her house as a security system kept overfeeding them with all the wrong things.. "ELLIE" is a picture of health. And with the proper diet, food and exercise she lost all excess weight and is now perfectly fit! She is also fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. In addition she has been housebroken and leash trained. "ELLIE" is quite human centered. She immediately hits it off with strangers and absolutely adores to be petted. She is also very food oriented and easily trainable. She is social with other dogs, but very eclectic and choosy when it comes to playmates. "ELLIE" would be happy in any sort of family. Kody Breed: Pointer/ Cattle Dog mix Gender: Male Weights: 46 lbs Age: 2 yrs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: yes Good with kids: Yes older kids Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Leash Trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Health Concerns: None HW status: Negative Spay/neutered?: Yes Tell us about this dog: Kody was saved from euthanization at a high kill shelter in San Antonio, Tx. It is believed that at some point Kody was physically abused and would get defensive when he felt threatened. Kody has come a long ways and his trust in people has grew more and more everyday. He is an active fun boy who loves kids, getting belly rubs, and playing with toys. Kody is very treat motivated and is eager to learn new things. He enjoys car rides. Kody loves going for walks, hiking, and/or jogging. Kody had been through behavioral training prior to coming into our rescue. These are notes from the trainer. Kody knows multiple commands. Below are the commands he knows and notes from his trainer: - look at me/pay attention Sit Come here- recall Touch- nose to hand target command Wait- pause in action- ESPECIALLY at doors!! Settle- relax Leave it- back away and leave that alone (barking/fixation/food/ leash excitement) Place- go to k-bed (point) Let’s go- change in direction/follow me Kennel- go into kennel or crate “Uh-uh”(buzzer type sound) or firm NO SIR for verbal correction. “Ok” for release WITH FOOD- - ANY resource guarding must be corrected verbally and redirected with obedience. As soon as he trusts you he is fine, but with new people He will test. ANY physical threat or punishment will overwhelm and escalate him- his behavior demonstrated that someone tried to punish the growling out of him and he gets defensive- you must redirect him into the bed and release him to eat when friendly and calm. He is calmer and eats better in a home environment- crate, hand feeding or bowl by your feet in a house he does well with. In a kennel he tends to be more defensive, so work outside the kennel barrier, then move inside and get him comfortable with you being in there with him while he eats before touching him while he eats. Story
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Amelia. She is a 6-year-old Pointer with a coat as soft as Velour. Amelia weighs about 50lbs and was found as a stray. Amelia is such a nice gal. She is so typical of her breed. She prances when she runs to greet you in the house. She loves her foster family and has learned to trust them through food. This Angel is always happy, tail wagging the entire time anyone talks to her. Amelia loves her food and would eat until she exploded if you let her. Her food is carefully measured out and she eats it all right away. Amelia doesn't have a sensitive stomach so can handle various types of food brands. She arrived at our Rescue and was very timid. She is has learned to trust more so now because of treats but still is a bit nervous. Amelia has a very gentle nature and though sometimes can be timid, she is not fear aggressive. We were so pleased to see her pointing tendencies when we took her to the conservation park for her photos. She was truly in her element. Amelia enjoys the company of other dogs. She is great with both males and females. When she gets really excited she will initiate a bit of play but a Companion Dog would suit her just fine. Amelia is not a high-energy dog but does require one good run a day as well as a walk. A minimum of one hour of exercise each day will suffice. She would only be able to be in a fenced-in area as she would be gone after birds if off-leash. This breed should be enrolled in obedience training and it is helpful that they are so food motivated. We do not know her history and have no idea if she was used as a hunting dog so her training has been minimal. She is housebroken and paper trained. Amelia does not require a crate, though she eats in one due to the other dogs in the home. This breed is a wonderful family dog, loyal and loving. Due to their strength and very hard wagging tails, toddlers are not recommended. She tolerates the warmer weather better than the cold. She will need a coat during the Fall and Winter months. Her hair coat is short. Amelia is great with strangers, again typical of her breed. She does have a prey drive and is very intelligent. She is a quiet dog in her foster home. She is very alert and were notify her family if anything happens out of the ordinary. Pointers also make great running companions for runners and cyclists. They are naturals at dog sports such as field trials, obedience, and agility. She rides well in a vehicle. The ideal home for Amelia is one that has a family willing to participate in training, obedience classes with her. A family that is keen on taking her for a good run each day and hikes would benefit her disposition. A smaller family unit would suit her well. Another resident dog we believe is a necessity for Amelia as we think she may suffer separation anxiety without one. Amelia is spayed, up to date with vaccines, treated for Heartworm in July, and is now heartworm free, and was on Heartworm Flea Prevention throughout the season. A fully fenced yard, another socialized resident dog, and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply for Amelia.
