Story
Salt is an affectionate, silly, loveable 1.5 year old Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix who is the definition of a velcro dog. This 55lb medium sized boy just wants to be by your side getting loved on all day every day! One of his favorite things to do is go outside and roll around on the mesh dog cots we have here. It must feel pretty good, because he always makes a series of hilarious grunts and groans when he does it! He thinks it's the ultimate back massage! Salt came to us off the streets of Houston with his brother, Pepper, who has already been adopted. Salt has always been the shy one towards people but when he and his brother were still puppies, he acted like his brother's protector! He likes to act all macho at first, but he's really just a big ole mush who wants your love. Salt is a dog who thrives on routine and he'll often have a brief panic if something changes- such as moving his crate slightly. We like to say that he's on the spectrum because he's so peculiar about the way he wants things! True to his nature, Salt is reserved with new people at first. Once he gets a feel for your lifestyle and the way you do things, he quickly runs in stride with it and attaches to your hip! Salt isn't much of an active dog, but he does occasionally get the zoomies when he's feeling a little bit crazy! He thoroughly enjoys being around other dogs, especially if they practically worship him like his adoptable friend, Roscoe, does! Salt would be happiest in a quiet home with at least one other dog to accompany him. While he would prefer to have a canine sibling in the home, he would also be content with just a human who is home most of the day and can give him all the attention he wants. He is good with pretty much all dogs of different sizes, ages, and genders, and is also good with respectful kids. Salt is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Meet Goose, an adult dog with a personality that's as vibrant as his energy. His playful nature is sure to bring a smile to your face, and his friendly demeanor makes him a joy to be around. Despite his energy and 64-pound body, Goose is also a cuddly companion who loves nothing more than to snuggle up after a day of fun, preferably on your lap. Independent and smart, Goose is house trained and obedient, always ready to show off his skills. He knows the sit, stay, come, no, down, off, and shake commands. His curiosity is infectious, making every day an adventure. He likes to lead while on a leash. While Goose can be a little rough and dominant with other dogs, he behaves well at the dog park and is friendly, playful, and tolerant. He's fantastic with children of all ages and is always excited to make new friends. He does have a habit of jumping up in his excitement, but his sweet nature more than makes up for it. With his unique mix of energy, intelligence, and affection, lovable Goose would make a wonderful addition to any family. Adopt Goose, and let his playful spirit brighten your life. (tw 8/3/2024)Goose is staying with his foster. More updates will follow soon. Please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076 to meet Goose or for any additional details.

Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Docile and eager to please, there's something extra wonderful about dogs like Zayla. Arriving into our program with a whopping 9 babies in tow, young momma Zayla has certainly had her hands full but is ready to strike it out on her own(or with a canine companion!) While she is a fairly dainty player, she appreciates like-minded fellow dogs to socialize with. Avoidant of cats, Zayla would likely do well in a multi-species home with proper introductions. Her deep, soulful eyes have captured the hearts of our staff and volunteers alike, and she'd love to try them out in a forever home! This 2 year old beauty is sure to win hearts wherever life takes her. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Meet Bunny: From Construction Site Survivor to Thriving Companion Bunny's journey is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of love. Discovered living amidst the dangers of a construction site and facing threats from workers, Bunny's early life was far from easy. But her path led her to us, and with a bit of patience and care, she has blossomed into a wonderful companion. Though she’s still getting used to her crate, Bunny excels on a leash and is a great car passenger. However, she has made it clear that she cannot coexist with cats—there are no exceptions to this rule. She does, however, get along well with other well-balanced dogs and enjoys the camaraderie of a pack. Bunny is not just stunningly beautiful; she’s also incredibly kind-hearted. For the ideal adopters, a high fence is a must. Bunny has proven that she can climb any chain-link fence with ease, so her new home needs to be secure. If you're looking for a loyal and loving addition to your family, Bunny just might be the perfect fit. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for. We believe in our local and out of state applicants.  There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest every 2 weeks.  You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters, and we need more like them.  No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest or Canada we welcome you!  Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping.  If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes, our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you can see our posts.  Unfortunately Meet & Greets has been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animal travel has been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and have been very successful.  Please look at our adopter’s reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue ##2145623##
